Worse before it gets better?

Hello, I've had 6 month smile braces for a about 5/6 weeks and had my first agonising check up at the dentist a few days ago. I've obviously been keeping track of my teeth but I've noticed that they seem to be moving around a bit oddly. The front top two lined up beautifully within the first 4 weeks...

Re: About to get Fast Braces

Good luck with your braces. I'm 31 and I wanted braces for so long and finally took the plunge 5 weeks ago. I was worried about what other people would think but I was so surprised that my work mates would actually pull me aside to discuss them because they too were seriously thinking about having i...

Re: Braces tomorrow!

Good luck! It took me about a week to used to them. I miss sandwiches, but never mind :)

Re: Which side of your mouth do you chew on?

Used to be my left side but now with these build ups in I kind of use both. Feels pretty odd.

Re: Braces at 31

Hello, I know this post is a year old so I was curious so ask how you got on? I'm 31 and have had my braces on for a month. The first checkup appointment was very painful so was wondering if you had the wire changed and the teeth filed down every visit? Thanks!

6 month smiles - ouch!

I've had my 6 month smile in for just over 5 weeks and had my first follow up appointment a couple of days ago. He removed the wires which was fine but then he started filing in between my teeth and this was so painful that I actually broke out in a cold sweat. The amount of blood was horrific and I...

Re: Introductions.

2 threads going? That's odd - I'm not sure how that has happened. I've just been getting notifications and following the link from my e-mail. No doubling up was intended. I'll have to search for the other one incase someone has given helpful advice :P I've just woken up to day 3 (I'm in Scotland). T...

Re: Introductions.

Thanks Mapleleafman888. I guess it's just a bit of a difficult adjustment. I have wanted this for so long and now they're in I'm thinking 'oh no, what have I done?'. I can see my diet consisting of mainly soft cereal and soup but even that tastes so bizarre! Is there such a thing as some kind of gum...

Introductions.

Hello, I had my braces fitted yesterday. I wasn't sure what to expect but they are quite uncomfortable and will take a bit of getting used to. I've been trying to use the wax but I find it eventually dislodges and rolls into my mouth which is pretty unpleasant. My mouth is beginning to get quite sor...
