Thanks for the insight Lucyeloop! I begining to think it really is a cavity. I'll go see my dentist after the labour day weekend. Hey invisagirl, yeah, ditto for me. I've waited a few days and there is still some weird pain which doesn't feel like root pain. So I'm going to contact my dentist.

molar toothache = cavity?

Hey guys, I'm experiencing pain/tenderness on one of my bottom molars on the bite surface of the tooth. Is this normal? I recently went to see my ortho to have the ends of my wires snipped because there's been a lot of movement! :D My ortho also put in wire ties on my molars during this appointment....

ortho sent me home with sugarfree gum the day I was braced. I was told to not baby my teeth (but no crunchy or chewy stuff of course), and chew gum to relieve the pain. they recommended chewing to make the pain go away faster because chewing increases bloodflow to the gums. Being a good girl ,...

Yes. Not in the traditional sense though. I think since I've gotten my braces, I've become more confident about what I want for myself in life, not just better teeth, and try to keep a positive attitude about stuff in general. It's like I don't have to hide anymore. I think people like that, and so ...

woah invisagirl, what a day that was for you.

I have a little dog of my own, and I'm not sure how I will cope when the day evitably comes.

Hats off to you for being so brave, toughing out the long treatment time and the dramatic escapades.

No problem. I love sharing my pics, it makes the whole being braced experience more fun :) It's surprising how proud I am of my braces. I'm not really sure why it took 3 hours, there weren't any major setbacks or anything. The ortho assistant was wonderful and went at a steady and methodical pace. S...

Much silliness, but nonetheless VERY entertaining! :p I'm sure we've all done something we thought in hindsight was kinda like "what the heck was I thinking???". Hence the saying "20/20 hindsight." I'm just glad you didn't end up seriously injuring yourself permanently. I had a s...

Hey geekgirl! The white bits are called "turbos". Since I have an overbite, they stop me from biting off my bottom braces until my bite improves. Otho says I'll be wearing them for about 2 months. --- Thanks for the encouragement KK! My teeth definitely don't ache as much today, but of cou...

yowitch!

I've survived my first 24 hours in braces. I was doing so well coping...until I went back to my ortho's to have a broken bracket fixed. Apparently the brace broke not due to anything I did, but because of the way my teeth are, there is a lot of pressure put on that particular brace. It may pop off a...

Thanks for the info! I'm a much more relieved knowing that the feeling in my lip and chin will eventually come back. I'm pretty sure they didn't sever a nerve then because I didn't have molars taken out. I think they were bicuspids. For those who had jaw surgery, my sympathies to you for sure!! :sho...

local anesthetic not wearing off??

I'm getting kinda worried now.. I had 4 extracted on wednesday and it was done under local anesthetic. I got 4 injections basically in the 4 areas in the mouth. top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right. 3 of the 4 injections have worn off, but the bottom right one still hasn't yet. Is this nor...

Me with 4 teeth extracted. I can't seem to pronounce anything with "sh" in it properly!!! So of course all my friends ask me to say "I was born on a pirate ship" http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/wiredwebbie/IMG_0456_sm.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/wire...

extraction

20050817 - extraction I had 4 teeth removed today as prescribed by my ortho. My 14, 24, 35, and 45ths are gone and I now have 8 missing teeth (including my wisdom teeth)! The extraction itself hasn't been bad so far. In terms of pain, getting the needle for local anesthetic was the worst of ...
