Re: Finally taking the plunge at 34
Hi all! It's been a while. My teeth have made great progress in a few short weeks! I just had my first wire change after 8 weeks and boy I forgot about the tenderness. The staff warned me that this wire is really going to move things along so I need to be prepared for a little pain. Excited ...

Re: Opting for braces instead of Invisalign
I was told that I was an invisalign candidate, but that it would almost double my treatment time. They also told me about shaving teeth and adding attachments and that's when I opted for traditional braces. I wanted more precise results in a shorter time span. I am very pleased with my decision!

Pain is back
Hi all, I am three weeks into my braces. The first five days were rough in terms of pain. Then it subsided and I felt great overall. Now it seems to be creeping back and my molars and uppers are so sore again. I figure it's just my teeth moving and positioning and that it's a good thing. Is the comi...

Re: Metal vs ceramic
I have to disagree in that we will all tell you that ceramics is the way to go. I have had ceramic on top and metal on bottom and I would never think of switching to full metal, but I understand that some people are not worried about having braces as much. Are they less visible? Yes and I in no way ...

Re: Wisdom teeth
Hi there. I would get them out now rather than later if at all possible. I am in braces for the second time partly because of issues with my wisdom teeth. I wish I had gotten mine out earlier. Best of luck to you and keep us posted on your decision!

Re: Changing method of treatment? What would you do?
Hi, I am sorry to hear you are having so much trouble talking. I totally understand your position as needing to speak for work as I am in the same boat. One day per week I literally speak for 6 hours non stop. Did your ortho tell you that the braces would impact your speech so much? See what you hea...

Re: Braces Panic - very loose molar
Hi, I just had my braces put on over a week ago. My molars are loose as well and I feel it on the left side the most. When I press with my tongue I can feel what you are talking about. Teeth feeling loose is pretty normal I think, but if you are worried you can always call your ortho and see what th...

Re: do damon braces really work faster
I am so glad I read this post. I have the traditional brackets (with bands) and I had the same type many years ago as a teenager. Makes me feel better as I was under the impression that SL was the top option. Thanks for posting the the informative blog as well!

Re: Debracing soon. Thoughts on teeth whitening? What route?
I whitened my teeth professionally once and had great results, but my teeth were very sensitive for a few days after. I think it cost me $500 at the time. I now use Crest white strips and I think they do a good job too! Congrats and getting debraced! It must feel wonderful!

Re: Starting my journey, am I already screwing up?
Hi, it definitely wouldn't hurt to get another opinion if it would put your mind at ease. It was at least 1,000 difference for me if I opted for invisalign and the treatment time was almost double. Keep us updated!

Re: Starting my journey, am I already screwing up?
Hi there, I can definitely relate to your post. I was just braced last Thursday! I never wore my retainer as a child and my teeth started shifting, while not noticeable to many, they were to me. I also started to develop a misaligned bite. Almost every ortho I saw said I could probably get away with...

Re: Teeth whitened BEFORE braces?
I did not whiten mine either. Mine were pretty white to begin with so I never thought much about it. I also know it can make teeth sensitive, so I probably would have avoided it.

Re: Braces Price Question
I'm paying 3,500 for everything (ceramic on top and metal on the bottom), but my treatment time is less than one year and I am located in small community. Best of luck. It will definitely be worth it!

Re: Ummm just 5 months?
How wonderful that your treatment is only 5 months! I am not familiar on clearcorrect, but I had inquired about invisalign as I have moderate crowding on my bottom and my bite is slightly off on the left side. I was told that I would be wearing the trays for at least 18 months if I went that route, ...

Re: Impressions? Did you have one?
I had pictures, xrays and a 3D scan of my mouth the day I had my braces put on. My first appointment was about 2.5 hours total. Best of luck to you!!
