spacers

I had 12 for seven days here. The worst pain I've had by far without a doubt.

surgery in langley

Geek-girl,

I will be having my surgery in Langley, BC as my oral surgeon is based there. I live across the water in Maple Ridge, but was referred to the OMS in Langley. Would be interested to see if we have the same surgeon.

white teeth

Thanks everyone. I guess not smoking and not drinking coffee makes a difference with keeping teeth white. I still plan on whitening them once I get through with all of this. I'm glad you all like the choice I made. Now I have to figure out what colors to go with at my next adjustment in 2.5 weeks. I...

Blue & Red Ligs

http://hurricaneweb.net/ortho/media/first_adjust.jpg I thought I'd give some color a try this time after my first adjustment on the way to surgery. (beautiful open bite isn't it? :yikes: ) I chose Red Sox colors for the playoffs: Blue on top, red on bottom. I was hoping to bring them luck but, ugh,...

8 molar bands

I have 8 molar bands even though only 5 teeth have fillings. I'm sure it's for anchorage, especially considering I'll be getting orthognathic surgery on my upper jaw. The question I have is do all first upper molar bands come with headgear tubes? I have the tubes on my upper bands and they just get ...

I know your pain. I had 12 spacers. They are the worst part though. Ibuprofen worked the best for me to kill the pain.

Bridge traffic? I take the ferry that I have to wait 30 minutes for or I drive through Mission and Abbotsford if it's too long of a wait.

I'm in Langley right now, but I spent a year or so in port alberni, and got out to Tofino quite a bit while i was there. It's absolutely gorgeous, that's for sure. If you don't mind the rain, of course, but that holds true for most of the province ;) It's interesting you live in Langley, although I...

This may be a silly question, but do bonded retainers stay on for life or do they remove them after a year or two?

Thanks,

I don't think my oral surgeon will finance and I'm sure I will be billed afterwards like I have been so far. I've had 2 bicuspids removed in his office for room and 4 wisdom teeth removed in surgery in the hospital by him. Each time, except for the wisdom teeth removal, I've been billed afterwards. ...

I was told to get the Oral B Fluoride rinse instead of Listerine as Listerine has alcohol in it and can dry your mouth out. The Oral B actually tastes good and I use it once a day, at night. I usually put some in, swish it around for a minute while I remove my contacts so it doesn't waste any more t...

Threading the stiff end through the molar bands is probably the only way if the bands are too tight together. It is possible that there may be some cement stuck between your teeth as that is exactly what I had. The first night after getting the braces on, my floss snapped 3 times before I realized t...

Re: Canadian Insurance

Hi All. Are there any Canadians out there (particularly those in BC) who have managed to get their insurer to cover part or all of orthognathic surgery? Is this surgery ever classified as medically necessary? Thanks and Cheers Glen Glen, I'm a B.C.'er who is getting my Class III corrected as well. ...

I'm an "underbiter" as well and I'm going through the process too. I also have an open bite, but that's a different story. You look great already and you'll only look even better afterwards. Don't even think about the appearance part though. The most important thing is that your teeth will...
