I've had my top braces for about 6 weeks now, and got the lower ones put on today. The ortho put clear (cleats?) on several of my bottom teeth right above the brackets so that my top teeth doesn't bite down on the bottoms. Today is day 2, and right now I think I miss all foods! I even had a hard time with mashed potatoes today. Hopefully I can figure it out soon, because I'm hungry.

I'm doing well, thanks for asking! Everything went very smoothly, and I'm not in too much pain-yet. My ortho warned me that I would be sore, so I'm prepared for it to hit tomorrow.

I have never heard of 6 month braces...Are they only for minor cases? I can't imagine how painful a full treatment would be if it were squeezed into 6 months. Ouch!

Oh, one more thing...I found it odd that my ortho didn't take impressions of my teeth-only x-rays. Anyone else here not have impressions made prior to braces?
