Re: New Essix's on front teeth only
great explanation. your case is much more complex than most. you clearly understand what your treatment protocol is. the anterior repositioning splint you now wear is very commonly prescribed - and quite effective for symptoms such as yours. in this case, ''settle'' is not a term often thrown around...

Re: Essix retainer - pain when and after removing!!!
sorry for the misunderstanding; by ''long crowns...'', i was referring to all of your teeth as each tooth has a root and a crown (the visible portion of your tooth).

Re: My Hawley retainer looks different than most I've seen
sounds like what is called a circumferential hawley with a combination flat anterior labial bow wire / round posterior wire. the theory is that the flat wire better holds your teeth in place than the round wire. unless the wire is adapted very accurately to conform to the front surfaces of your teet...

Re: Essix retainer - pain when and after removing!!!
is there a fake tooth that remains locked into your essix upon removal? the function of the tooth is to maintain the space as an implant requires a certain amount of space to succeed. do you have long crowns with deep undercuts around the gum line? unless these are blocked out, the resulting essix w...

request a free consult. does this tooth hit any opposing teeth when you close? did this tooth merely relapse to its original position? a single spring retainer can fix you right up. they lab gets a model of your teeth. we cut the crooked tooth free of the model, and reposition it back on the model i...

Re: $600 for the Invisible Retainer?? Is That too much
the lab fee for an essix is around 75 bucks per arch. ask your doc for a breakdown of his fee. you hired him. make him accountable. it's merely a request for an itemized receipt. just like your m.d., hospital, or even mechanic.

Re: Retainer hurting roof of mouth & is my wire too low?
that wire should be between the tips of your inter proximal papillae and the middle of your teeth. that wire unacceptable. you should never have palatal pain. demand a new impression and remade appliance. you have a very strong case for this to be done at n/c. do not give the ortho your current appl...

Re: ...and they're off
the fixed appliances are great. was each tooth cemented to the wire?...or only on the canines? you can get slight rotations of the teeth that are not cemented, but its usually very minimal. your ortho sounds good. good luck

Re: New Essix's on front teeth only
the term ''settle'' makes my skin crawl. when the brackets came off, did your all your teeth contact evenly when you you gently bit down? the teeth are relapsing toward their former positions, while super erupted or submerged teeth are either depressed into the bone or allowed to super erupt into a ...

Re: Hawley and Brushing
follow your orthodontist's prescribed on and off regime. should be only at night by now. when you begin to get calculus building up on the tissue side of your retainer, you are not properly cleaning it. perhaps too infrequently. the person wearing a 12 year old retainer. why? the acrylic that is use...

Re: What did you do with your 'left-overs'?
the waxes, elastics...cost your orthodontist next to nothing. they're worthless to anyone but you. dispose of them. waterpik, either use it, or toss it.
