I am sorry that your expander didn't work, but you have a nice smile! Your palate doesn't seem narrow to me, or do you have a crossbite? I wish you very good luck with your treatment!

Thank you!....Yep, I have a crossbite!

Re: New and I don't know what to do!

So, it's been awhile, I don't know if anyone even cares but the expander did not work for me (I'm 26). It just did some tipping of the teeth like I feared. So, I ended up having a tooth extracted. I've had some IPR and might eventually have some bonding done to even out my smile since 1 tooth extrac...

Re: 25 year old with Removable Rapid Palater Expander

Update: I have been wearing the removable expander and can see a difference in the width when I take photos! It's not a huge difference but it's only been a couple of weeks and my smile looks wider. However, I'm starting to find it difficult to put the brace into my mouth - my upper jaw is painful ...

Re: Adult palate expander

Hey guys, was wondering if any adults on here have had their palate expanded? I am getting a removable one shortly to wear for a year, in articles i've read there seems to be 2 differing opinions, some saying you cant expand an adults upper jaw and others saying you can...was wondering if any of yo...

Re: CANNOT wait to be braced! :)

We're actually in really similar situations. I think you commented on something I posted too. I've had my new removable palate expander for about a week now and so far it's much better than my last one that was digging into the roof of my mouth and causing crazy pain and abrasions. I've only done 3 ...

Re: New and I don't know what to do!

Featheryy1221, how old are you? Like I said, I've only done 6 turns but it hads made room in the back so far, I can tell when I floss. I just got my new expander today and it's way bulkier than the last one (seems to fit better so far) so I'm talking pretty funny and I can't touch my teeth together ...

Re: Adult Palatal Expansion- A 22 year old's story

Oh wow, a month seems short. Glad to hear everything worked out though! Are you loving your smile?

I really want to avoid surgery. He hasn't brought it up and I don't plan on it either haha.

Re: reverse decay

I've read things online on this same topic. A lot of people oil pull and brush with bentonite clay. I've been doing both for about 3 months now. My mouth is looking better overall but I can't really say anything about decay. I had 3 cavities (I'm 25 and I'd never been to the dentist until last month...

Re:

[quote="jaws"]I agree that orthodontists just seem to differ on this issue. I do think that it's pretty much agreed upon that you can't actually expand the palate in adults without surgery. However, some orthos like to pull teeth to make room, while others like to 'expand' things dentally,...

[quote="BaroqueAndRoll"]Hi There! I'm 'Ouchies!' who posted this story! Sorry I didn't reply sooner- I forgot the password to that account and I wasn't able to retrieve it! So anyway, my expander came out two months ago and, yes, it worked shockingly well. I don't think you should be scare...

Re: How did you tell people???

I haven't actually gotten braces yet. I'm supposed to have an expander for 6 months before I get them. Anyway, my appointments interfered with some things with my sister so I told her I had an orthodontist appointment. Then she responded that she knew she'd need then at some point too. Recently I wa...

New and I don't know what to do!

So, I keep googling things about expanders and braces online and links to this website come up. I love reading about everyone's experience and advice so I have to post to remain a member. I'm not even sure if I'm doing it right. Anyway, I have had my removable expander for two weeks now but I'm wait...
