Thanks Anna5!
This picture was taken two months ago and my smile has remained the same since then. You can see one side of my face (the side with the dimple) is chubbier than the other side (with the mole), and my lips are not horizontal. If I have a big smile it will be more obvious.

Debrace date set! September 18 2014!
I was supposed to have my treatment ended 5 months ago (in a total of 18 months instead of 24 months as estimated) but my ortho had something new to adjust every time I went there since April 2014, so every time he would tell me that "if next time everything is okay, the following appointment w...

Re: What is your morning/evening hygiene routine?
My routine is the same for both morning and evening:
Rinse with water
Interdental brush to remove food particles
Waterpik
Brush
Floss
ACT mouthwash
A dental school student once told me that we should always floss first then brush.

Re: Are rubber bands still working if they don't hurt?
I asked my ortho the exact same question before and he said that even if I don't feel them anymore, they are still working. Also every time you speak or open your mouth, the rubber bands will exert force onto your teeth. Don't worry.

Re: How long did you have to wear your powerchain for?
I got mine since the second or third adjustment. I have been in power chains for more than 1 year and I think I will still need it until the end, which is hopefully two months later.

Re: Filing teeth while I have three months left in my treatm
[quote="kathydell"]Every ortho and patient are diffferent but I can tell you mine is being done closer to the end than the beginning. She's been watching the progress to decide the best time to do it. Her philosophy is to have the wires do their work first because once she files, she can't...

Filing teeth while I have three months left in my treatment?
So I just went for an adjustment earlier and my ortho said he will file/even out my front teeth (the bottom part) during the next appointment since one front tooth has dented edge. Now that I am approaching the end of my treatment (three more months left-- fingers crossed), I am wondering if this is...

Re: Wisdom teeth and braces?
My ortho suggested that I get rid of my wisdom teeth (I had two left at that time) but he also said that it was okay to wait a bit (I was gonna go back to my home country, where dental care is a tiny fraction of the cost here in the US, in a few months). So I waited. But then one tooth suddenly came...

I will finish my treatment 6 months earlier!
Hi everyone! I just had my adjustment yesterday and my ortho told me that I will finish my treatment in a total of 18 months, instead of the original sentence of 2 years, which means I have only 5 months to go! I am so excited and I thought it might be a good idea to share my experience here... My c...
