Had my implant fixture this morning. My right side of my face is quite swollen and it's slightly achey. They had to take bone scrapings from elsewhere on my jaw as it was a little thin. I believe this is the worst bit over and done with!
Hi millersgirl, healing has been absolutely fine, I've not had any discomfort at all since I had my tooth out!! When are you getting yours removed? Did you see the pictures I uploaded on the previous page? Yes! I was hoping you see this and respond. I'm nervous about timing as I'm scheduled to have...
Hello all, been a canny while since I posted on here so thought I would update with my situation. I had an x-ray a few weeks ago and my tooth hasn't moved a significant amount so have made the decision to get my impacted canine taken out and an implant fitted. Both my ortho and myself agree we have...

Woop Jenna!!! I see the little springy wire on your canine bit! They didn't put a bracket on the tooth next to the canine gap on mine so I have the wire over the gap and a tooth, I wasn't expecting it when they first done it and I thought it looked huge, but nobody ever notices it. It's nice seeing...
Finally got my braces on this morning. I went for all metal in the end (originally was going to get ceramic upper metal lower). Getting them on was really quick, no discomfort as yet will see how they go over next few days. Having the brace on highlights even more how wonky my teeth are!
Congrats and good luck on your imminent bracing! Hopefully you have your expander out by now? Those things suck. I have ceramic on my upper front 6 teeth and metal for the rest. I always do fun colours on the bottom. I find I prefer the darker colours (red, hunter green, dark blue, dark purple) bec...
Hello, I am 26 and getting my braces fitted on April 7th and after much thought I have decided to go with all metal. I want to have a bit of fun with ligs and was wondering which colours keep there colour "fresh" the longest? If you have had any disasters with certain ones staining or look...
Hi everyone I've just been reading up on the posts since I last visited here and it's good to see some of you are making excellent progress with your impacted canines. I had an appointment today and while there is movement it's not majorly noticeable. Anyways I am finally going to get my braces fitt...
37yrs, currently on braces and first time in the forum. I postponed my impacted canine exposure because the Surgeon said it's too high up and he may need to extract. I declined because it contradicts what the Orthodontics said before I started the treatment. I was hoping the canine would be moved i...
Had my progress pano today. Ortho told me to start thinking about an implant. Before I left though he wanted a couple more xrays. The one I'm posting made me feel like there is still hope. Ortho said we can try chain method for six more months. Keeping my fingers crossed...getting an implant with a...
jenna88 : Ah yes I see the movement :jump: But what is that metal bridge apparatus that goes from the left side of your mouth to the right? I've noticed some other people on here have it as well but I haven't.[/quote] Hi sorry it's took so long for me to reply, I haven't been on the forum for ages!...
