I can see them... looks like Nina Dobrev and Catherine Zeta-Jones

Re: Damon Braces

I'm also 7 months in with Damons and mine aren't completely straight... it sounds like we're in similar situations with teeth just slightly out of line and some tipped teeth. My next adjustment will include bracket repositioning and my ortho said that will help get everything straightened out.

Re: New member

Welcome! I also have clear upper and metal lower Damons. They're really not bad at all and I love seeing the progress. Good luck with the rest of your treatment!

Re: Teeth grinding each other on one side?

I have had that happen several times, but I'm not near the end of treatment. It tends to go away quickly since my teeth are still moving. It's probably worth mentioning to your ortho, though. I would be worried if that was my final tooth position and I'd be scared of chipping a tooth while eating.

Re: Jaw pain after flossing.. ouch!

Flossing caused a lot of pain when I first got braces, but that was the pain of tooth movement. Your gums are probably irritated because you don't floss regularly. That sort of irritation is very common for non-flossers and is often a sign of gum disease. Let your dentist know you're experiencing pa...

I love the Olympics! Go Team USA! (although I watched last night's events and we didn't look so great)

Re: chichi is braced!

Great progress!!! Your teeth are looking so beautiful and straight now! Thanks! Ok, perhaps the spacing between your teeth isn't overly large. From the picture the teeth look pretty tight already. This could be just a pro-active way of keeping everything together before you get your heavy duty work...

Re: What do you think....

I am thinking about how much I hate the triangle elastic configuration. It's so front and center and I really want to be able to lick my lips without having to work my way around the elastics.

Re: chichi is braced!

That's awesome news that you're doing well! What does the power chain feel like? Honestly, I'm disappointed that it doesn't hurt more. Maybe it's because those 6 teeth have been shifting back and forth so they're already mobile, but it feels like absolutely nothing. I also did not experience that o...

Re: chichi is braced!

4th adjustment went very well. Ortho says I'm doing great and that I just might be a bit ahead of schedule. I got a new top wire (0.018 x 0.025) and the bottom wire stayed the same (0.018 x 0.025). I now have a powerchain across bottom front 6 teeth. It's just a white chain... they didn't offer a co...

Re: Question about wisdom tooth & midline

Your midline isn't too bad, but I understand your concern. It's not too late to have the wisdom tooth extracted and it's definitely worth mentioning it to your ortho. Like Matilda said, I wouldn't have it extracted without talking to your ortho first.

Re: How (or has) your discomfort changed?

The braces are still new to you so it'll be a little while before you get used to them. In my experience, you'll always be aware that you have braces, but the discomfort goes away. There will still be times when something randomly causes pain - for example, my metal brackets don't have hooks, so whe...
