Re: Bite Turbos

No bite turbos, but I've had molar buildups since day 1. They've worn down quite a bit, but I still have them 7 months later...

Re: Keira Knightley on her crooked teeth

Good for her for making that sort of statement, but her teeth have always bothered me. I can't quite put my finger on why, as I'm not bothered by everyone with crooked teeth... but hers have always annoyed me lol

Congrats from a fellow Damon wearer! I don't have any other appliances so I can't comment on your concerns, but I wish you the best :)

Re: New to the board

I am just glad it's only at nighttime for me (right now), I don't know if I will be able to wear them during the day at work.... guess I will cross that bridge when I get to it! But, I can barely talk with them in and just so uncomfortable. I have the same triangle configuration on my left side, ex...

Re: Question About Tongue When Teeth Move Into Correct Posit

I second sirwired's comments. What you described sounds about the same as where my tongue has always rested. As long as you don't have a thrusting problem, this should be fine.

Re: I need your advice guys before starting treatment.(19/9

It sounds like you've pretty much made up your mind then.

Do you know what these "rings" are that the ortho wants to use instead of an expander? I'm just curious because I have no idea what that could be.

Re: I need your advice guys before starting treatment.(19/9

don't rush into a treatment plan until you completely understand everything that it involves and feel completely confident in your choice. This. I started off with a very slight crossbite, so my teeth are worn more on one side than the other. My ortho said he could fix it with braces/elastics and s...

Re: 55 y/o and New to site with questions

Damon is the whole system, not just the SL brackets. I would recommend choosing an orthodontist based on his/her qualifications and experience, rather than bracket type. My orthodontist showed me before and after pictures of his own patients that had some of the same issues as I do. So I got to see ...

Re: Intro - new Damon wearer

You don't regret getting the Damon's do you? I am researching it currently. I am reading that it takes a bit to get used to them. I don't know but am sure to find out hopefully soon…Keep thinking positive. All types of braces take time to get used to - that isn't just true for Damons. I don't have ...

I've been following you story and loved seeing your progress.
Thanks for following my story :)

Unfortunately, I'm bored with my braces right now  I have a few things that aren't moving fast enough for my liking lol

They'll look less "jacked up" quicker than you think. It does take some time, but we're all getting through it together :)

Re: How loose did your teeth get?

I had a premolar that was as loose as your tooth sounds, but I put a limit on how long I would let it be that loose before I really started pestering the ortho. I told myself I would give it a week or two and see what happens. It firmed up enough in probably about a week and a half, but took another...

Re: The start of my braces journey (pics included)

Congrats! They look great :) It definitely gets easier. They'll eventually become part of your everyday life. In fact, just last night, I was doing my nightly floss and actually forgot I had braces... the wire blocked the floss and there was half a second when I thought, "what the heck is that?...

Re: Tools to put on your elastics

I eventually learned to put them in with my fingers and no mirror... just takes practice!

Or find one of those hook things they use to put them on at the ortho's office :)
