Re: Any oral surgeon recommendation in Los Angeles?
I had Kaiser and did my surgery in Sunset Los Angeles. Dr. Tehrany. AMAZING. Really loved Kaiser, my whole team and my results.

Re: Southern California Kaiser Surgeon
Who did you end up going with? I had Tehrany and think she did a good job. I echo sentiments mentioned before.

Re: Sorry, Should have said February 2014 surgery buddies
Hi, Checking in here. Sorry to hear about your relapse, and sending good thoughts that the braces work. How long will you have them? I need up having a revision genio one year post op, and removed a screw that started to make its way through the bone. Still have numbness from that surgery almost one...

Re: Lower lip sensation after genioplasty
Hi, how is the numbness now? for me, I had significant numbness at the six month mark and it took a full year to go away. But then I had to have a revision genio - which I'm almost at the one year mark and I still have significant numbness this time around... I think it will get better but take long...

Re: Sorry, Should have said February 2014 surgery buddies
Thx. only time will tell and hopefully the bite settles. But braces again wouldn't be the end of the world tbh. My OS is really busy so I'm scheduled for early December. I was told about a week recovery, but that it's no where near as intense as the original surgery. I will have numbness in my chin ...

Re: Sorry, Should have said February 2014 surgery buddies
Oh that is interesting about the midline. I'm sad to report that my molars have started to open up on one side to : ( Not too terrible though - we'll see. I'm still on retainers 24/7 and for at least another couple months. I don't like them, but the two times I've left them out more than 3 hours I c...

Re: Sorry, Should have said February 2014 surgery buddies
Oh, right - the occlusion. Yes, mine opened up that way a bit too and I was worried. I definitely can't feel my bite as perfectly matched now as when the braces just came off. They fit together like puzzle pieces then! But what the heck?! Saying that he wasn't sure if he checked when they were comin...

Re: Sorry, Should have said February 2014 surgery buddies
Hold on a moment...I've noticed that teeth do funny things. I actually thought the same thing about mine. I think my spaced started to open up just two weeks after removing the braces and I freaked. And, tbh my molars moved around like CRAZY too. My dentist actually said that I had large gaps betwee...

Re: How long after surgery did braces come off?
It was 5 mos post-op for me which I think is on the shorter end. But I was in braces about a year and a half before surgery which I think is on the longer end. I had upper and lower. I think it will depend on how much your ortho does BEFORE surgery - mine left me near perfect. Ok, pretty much becaus...

Re: midlines after surgery.
My midline on my upper was off about half a tooth (!) after my upper and lower surgery. It really bothered me, but my dentist told me that it's normal and the average person wouldn't be able to tell. I thought surgery was about perfection, but it is what it is I suppose. Then there's the added eleme...

Re: Kaiser Surgeon in Sunset
Hi, I didn't have that surgeon, but I had my surgery at that Kaiser back in Feb with another OS there. Kaiser was great, I loved my surgeon and the staff are awesome too. But from all my OS pre and post op visits, I can tell you that they all seem to give the same high level quality care to their pa...

Re: long face syndrome and skeletal open bite. Question
Of course I'm not a medical expert, but I had (maybe have) what is referred to as long face syndrome. It's basically when you have a rather long face because of structural deformities. It can be a long lower jaw, or long upper. In my case, it was a long upper jaw which also gave me a gummy smile. Bu...

Re: Taking a New Job When You've Got Surgery Scheduled
So what happened? I'm glad Samoorelaw gave insight : ) I was going to suggest Cobra. I ended up switching jobs a month before I went in for surgery, but so I wouldn't have to deal with the possibility of being denied, I made sure my new employer had the same insurance (Kaiser). They did, and I was g...

Re: Double Jaw Surgery -- Numbness Question
Well, I'm six months post op, and I actually ended up with hypersensitivity on one side of my lower chin and lip. Not sure if that was lower jaw or genio. Right after initial numbness went away, even the slightest breeze made me shudder, but slowly it's gotten better. It's not gone entirely, but I t...
