How long til' i can wear my retainer only at night?

I know this has probably been asked before, but i remember something about my ortho saying i should wear the retainers day and night for three months, than just put it on every night. I may be wrong but my ortho recently moved to a different office a month or so after i was debraced and have no idea...

how many debanding appointments?

So i am nearing the end of my braces, and my ortho told me that at my next appointment he would start debanding my braces. Now my question is, he told me my target end date for my braces to be off was in april.. My next debanding date is in march. Do orthodontists sometimes like to take off certain ...

Bite just a little off.

I have about 3-4 months left of my estimated braces time and ive noticed more and more as my teeth start to move, my upper and bottom front teeth are sliding against each other as i bite down. It is almost a nice bite but i have to slightly pull my jaw back for it to feel normal when i bite down, I ...

Front Teeth •Not Falling into Place

So ive had braces over a year now and about 4 months ago i had elastics put on to fix a slight underbite, well that worked amazingly and actually gave me an overbite to an extent. Well ive had them off for a month or two now and my top and bottom front teeth are about even now when i bite down witho...

My ortho is going to "Torque" my Upper Front Teeth

So has anyone else had this done? my upper and bottom teeth just about hug each other nicely when i close my mouth, but i had asked him if there could be the normal gap between the upper and bottom teeth(having slight discomforts with it as of now) I made the mistake of not asking what Torque'ing my...

Ortho changed his mind on me having surgery.

Ive been in braces for about 9 month's now, 2 of those months being in elastics. At my last adjustment about 2 weeks ago my original ortho had just retired and a new orthodontist took over. He had told me that the elastics may have fixed my bite completely. (Which my top teeth were hanging over the ...

Question about Pre-op to Post-op

So ive been wondering.. Elastics were put on my teeth to close the gaps and dramatically pull my underbite into an almost normal bite. The question i have is, If it looks like i have almost a normal bite right now with my elastics in(been wearing them for a while and they've done wonders), how do th...

Initially he had guessed 1 year in braces but because my teeth were already so straight he said it may take 9 months, and 6-8 months after surgery, this month i believe is the 9th month in braces. I had asked him how much time he thought was left and replied..maybe 9 more months, so im praying that ...

Ready for Surgery?

I have a question that ive been thinking alot about lately... When does the Orthodontist decide it's time for the patient to have surgery? For example.. Do all the teeth have to be closed of all gaps, or does the top teeth have to be in a certain alignment with the bottom? Any help would be apprecia...
