Re: chains?

I have them on the full right side, bottom right now. It was very uncomfortable the first week or so. But they seem to get quick results, which I'm super happy about.

How are you feeling a couple days after?

Re: UGH and Hi

No idea, about the clenching. I do it in my sleep. I have some damage to the tops of my teeth where they are worn down because of it. A friend of mine clenches during the day, she ended up getting a guard to wear at work. gracieg2002 - Have you tried a pearlish white? I have that now. I've had it fo...

Re: UGH and Hi

For me it's a teeth thing. I have a severe overbite, so I have a retainer on top that doubles as a guard. I would just knock the brackets off right now from clenching if I got them at the same time.

Re: UGH and Hi

pjade1, good luck Friday! Hopefully you won't have any set backs. This last adjustment triggered a migraine. Boo! Sage, I've gotten colors, but since it's only my bottom teeth no one can even see them. So I just got a opalish color this last time. I don't really mind if people notice, I may feel dif...

SpottedPickle, how are things going for you?

Re: UGH and Hi

I went to my 2nd adjustment last evening. The last 6 weeks were basically a wash! The way they tied the rings around the brackets counter acted the actions of the coil, so whenever the coil was creating a gap, the pressure from the rings were pushing the teeth back! So frustrated. So they added a po...

Re: UGH and Hi

I can't eat veggies even remotely steamed....so gross!! I'd rather just blend them. I've learned about some really good smoothies, so I'm kind of having fun experimenting with flavors and use the smoothie as meal replacement for breakfast. My ortho doesn't take pics every time I go in. I've been tak...

Re: UGH and Hi

Hi Sage! I have a really bad over bite. My top teeth completely overlap my bottom teeth when I bite down, to the point where they disappear. So I have a retainer on top that keeps my bite from coming together, so I don't knock the bottom brackets off. Once the bottom teeth are in a better position, ...

Re: UGH and Hi

Does the restored tooth not hold the "glue" for the brackets? Thanks for the good luck! I'm glad I only have the bottom first. Adjustments are going to suck when I get the top as well. My last adjustment was the placement of the coil, and I made the mistake of going first thing in the morn...

UGH and Hi

I've had braces for almost 3 months now. Bottom only, (for now) the one crooked tooth I have is all sorts of snaggled looking and actually looks more crooked than when I started. I realize this is normal, and it's probably not actually more crooked, and just because the other teeth are being forced ...

Re: Newbie - cfast braces

It's very hard to explain to people who have never had braces. I keep getting "but your teeth aren't even that crooked". Then I have to launch into my bite, clenching, acid reflux enamel wear issues. For me it's not about crooked, it's about saving my teeth so I don't end up in Dentures wh...

So here's a pic of my teeth. You can see the damage to my bottom teeth from clenching.

Re: Getting upper braces?!

Good idea about asking my Ortho about a new guard once my uppers go on. I'm more concerned about sleeping, I clenched so hard before getting braces, that I would wake up daily with headaches. I know my final retainers, one of them will double as a guard!
