Re: Worrying about narrow smile (canine substitution)
Hiya :) I havent been in the position of having my incisor removed. However I did have a canine and three premolars removed. (Canine and one premolar was removed from the top while a second premolar and premolar was removed from the bottom). I did however have a consultation witth one orthodontist w...

Re: 1st premolar and canine transposition
I have missing upper laterals, so I'm in the process of my teeth being shifted forward and then later reshaped to make them act more like the laterals. From what I can tell, reshaping is a common restorative technique and usually nobody can tell because it will be made to look identical. As for the...

Re: Reconsidering Jaw Surgery - is it too late?
Just wondering how you are getting on with your braces? I am also reconsidering jaw surgery but already had my 2 pre molar extractions...and I am kinda afraid to talk to my orthodontist about it. To start with I was always concerned about my teeth only. I blamed it all on my teeth and didn't realis...

I agree with the above response - usually treatment methods may be different which results in a difference in price. Are you having extractions? power chains? tads? these all will contribute to the cost

Re: Braces have given me a gap between front teeth?
Hello everyone, I have had braces for almost 3.5 years now, and I'm 25. In the past 10 months or so I have noticed a gap forming between my top 2 front teeth which I didn't have before. Initially my orthodontist said she would work on the gap later after getting the main stuff out the way, but now ...

Re: Are my teeth "bad enough" for braces? Chickening out, he
I did it! I almost chickened out and made myself molds for Invisalign but I didnt! The process wasn't bad at all. Super fast and they feel less awkward than I expected. I'm not even too sore, though I swallowed the Mac and cheese and chicken we had for dinner without really chewing. My only fear is...

Re: Reconsidering Jaw Surgery - is it too late?
I know any kind of surgery is something nobody wants, but if jaw surgery was involved in my treatment id go with it (of course id dread everything about it until I was done healing and saw results, but thats besides the point), I can only hope that timing doesn't make a drastic change, but at the e...

Reconsidering Jaw Surgery - is it too late?
Hi guys, I've had braces since April '14. In July I had my 4 premolars taken out to correct crowding as my teeth were fairly crowded. I also had a transposed tooth on the left hand side (which kind of was above another tooth and I looked like a vampire haha!). I also had an open bite - my lower jaw ...

Re: A couple of anterior open bite surgery questions
Hiya, My case is kind of similar to yours. Have an anterior open bite as well , but my orthodontist said I was between a class 1 or 3 in terms of profile (its really hard to tell). This is partly because my bottom teeth slant backwards, but I have a protruding chin. Also I'm not too sure if it is 10...

Re: Extraction question/problem
Hey! I also had extractions (4 removed), and my orthodontist did not mention wisdom teeth removal. In my case, the orthodontist said that I didn't need my wisdoms removed as he will be pushing my back teeth forward. This will create room for my wisdom teeth to fit in perfectly :) I guess it really d...

Jaw surgery after a round of treatment?
Hey guys,
I was just wondering if anyone had heard of someone getting braces again and having jaw surgery a while after their treatment with braces/extractions were over?

Re: My 20 month braces journey! ceramic upper, metal lower
First day with braces (28/4/2014)! The process: Orthodontist used the plastic curvy shaped things to hold my mouth open and my tongue back. This was pretty uncomfortable, especially because my dad was trying to make me laugh..don't have them in and laugh at the same time is all I will say! The assis...

My 20 month braces journey! ceramic upper, metal lower
Hi guys! Before I got braces, I had been reading so many of these stories on this website. I must say they really inspired me and I've learnt a lot from reading them. Now that I have my braces, I'd like to contribute! :D I had had an orthodontic consultation a few years ago when I was in high school...

Re: General Braces Questions/Concerns
Hey! This is my third day with braces! My orthodontist told me it's better to brush with a normal toothbrush at the start because of the soreness etc. You can brush with an electric toothbrush after a while, there's no problem but you'll find that the brush heads wear off rather quick and they are r...
