Re: The worst part of having braces
The worst part for me were the 2 or 3 occassions I had a poking wire. The thing i hated the most about braces though was cleaning my mouth after every single time I ate something

Re: Damon Braces at 31!
Sometimes it's just your gums reaction to the foreign objects (brackets and wires) in your mouth. Your hygiene routine sounds good, but maybe just in case you could try using those little interdental brushes to make sure you're getting everything behind your brackets. Even with brushing and flossing...

Re: The Professor's Story of Braces at 40 (with pics)
Yay Professor! Such a beautiful result and amazing transformation! Isn't it the best thing to not have food left in your mouth after eating? Some small pieces might get caught in the fixed retainer, but it's nothing compared to braces and needing a water flosser! Lol Congratulations! Enjoy your new ...

Re: I'm going to get braces this year!
Congrats Neil! Your teeth look great!! Question, is your permanent retainer bonded to each tooth? Hi, thank you. I'm really pleased with how it's turned out. Yes, the braided wire is individually bonded to each tooth with a small blob of glue. They are attached to the top and bottom six front teeth...

Re: Braces, round two
Get the permanent retainers for both top and bottom and you will never have to get braces again, but get the solid tabbed wire thats made in a lab not the braided wire, the wire made in a lab requires they make a final mold of your teeth, its a stronger wire as well. Not all orthos offer permanent ...

Re: Braces, round two
I had a rogue tooth that was wayyy behind my other teeth and it was bracketed and attached to my archwire since day one. I'm no ortho, but it looks like you have a spring to make room for that tooth so that there's enough room for it to move forward when it's connected to your archwire. My guess is ...

Re: Wonky to Wonderful: My Smile Renovation
I personally didn't have problems with staining once my brackets were removed. And I was drinking dark soda without a straw (which I don't normally do), an occassional latte, and got lazy with my cleaning routine towards the end because I knew I was getting my teeth whitened after braces anyway. Ev...

Re: Braces at 30 - FINALLY!
Congrats on making the steps to get braces! The hard part is making the decision to just do it and follow through. Once you do that and start seeing progress, it makes everything worth it. My story is similar to yours. Needed braces as a kid and it just never happened because of money. Neglected my ...

Looking good Professor! I wish braces fixed my resting b@$!# face lol. I still get complete strangers telling me to smile when I'm minding my own business. At least now I don't really mind since I actually like my teeth and smile now lol. I'm glad to see that your braces have had a positive effect o...
