Re: Inman aligners

Hi All I haven't been on the forum for a couple of weeks and it's great to see so many new people. I had my review today and just so excited as the dentist said at the next review we would be doing the edge bonding where my teeth have worn crooked from being overcrowded and then that might be it of ...

Re: Inman aligners

Hi starnepus

I can't say as I've noticed any sensitivity in my back teeth, I've had my aligner for just over 6 weeks now, but I also have 4 composite blobs 2 on front and 2 on back but I've still been eating normally. I just wondered why you were unable to eat with your front teeth?

Re: Inman aligners

I'm sure I've read posts where people have had the expander and then it's been removed later. I guessing it probably does make speaking even harder.

Re: Inman aligners

Hi All It's really nice that there are so many of us having treatment at the same time. I think the dentist just say 4-5 mths so that if it's quicker we are all even more impressed! My dentist said about 16 weeks originally I've done 5 so far. With regard to cleaning I've been putting mine in Retain...

Re: Inman aligners

Update Well had my second review today, having had my aligner about 4 weeks. Really really pleased with progress so far. My teeth were very overcrowded and I can just about see the whole of both of my front teeth! My original treatment time was 16 weeks but I can't believe it's going to be that long...

Re: Inman aligners

To rosiesue Personally the aligner appealed to me because I could take it out. I didn't like the idea of fixed braces at my age. It does feel strange in your mouth and obviously speech is a big thing which you will notice we all mention. I understand fixed braces don't affect your speech, so bearing...

Re: Inman aligners

Thanks cjfarmgate good luck for the 8th :) To starnepus Yes we all know how you feel, I'm not convinced the saliva bit improves. My husband says I'm constantly making a sucking noise!! I think the speech does though but not the lisp. Still it will all be worth it in the end, can't wait. This christm...

Re: Inman aligners

Update Well just back from my first review, dentist really pleased with results so far and showed me the cast of my teeth originally and you can see they have moved. They were wobbly last week but have firmed up again now. I had more filing and he adjusted the bow at the front, he also said I would ...

Re: Inman aligners

To tmcn Hi, in answer to your 'tea' question. I'm pretty sure I read that you shouldn't drink hot drinks with it in. I've only drunk water with it, and to be honest it's felt very strange drinking with it in! I save my tea for when I'm eating so I've taken it out. Good luck, and be assured your spee...

Re: Inman aligners

Well it's been just over 2 weeks since I got my aligner. I can now say that most of the time I forget I've got it in. My speech has improved thank goodness and I'm now counting down til Wednesday when I get my first review at the dentist.

Best wishes to everyone having treatment at the moment.

Re: Inman aligners

To nozzelnut

It depends, personally I just have an aligner for my top teeth as the bottom are ok.

I was told they move the front teeth up to canines not the whole arch.

Re: Inman aligners

To cjfarmgate Thanks for the reassurance, and feel better about the age thing now! I've also got 2 composite blobs at back of teeth which I've finally got used too! Looking forward to my first review in 10 days time. It's great that your dentist feels you only have a few more weeks, that's so quick,...
