Re: Herbst appliance for adults?

Damons don't need bands to hold them in place, if you notice the bracket has a little gate to hold it. The Herbst is mostly used in children, but your ortho may be using it in conjunction with the Damon system to try and get maximum results without having to opt for jaw surgery.

Re: Tool needed

I don't know how to do it yourself, but my ortho does it for me, so ask yours! My overbite was 8mm and my overjet was .5mm at the start, but I have to wait for them to measure it again.

Re: How much did you guys pay for your braces?

I am in NYC (Things are more expensive here, your replies are depressing me lol) and have no insurance, my total was $7,300. Lowest quote I got was $6,000. My price includes Damon braces Cleaning before and after Debonding Retainers (the invisalign style) ALL appointments during treatment even if tr...

Re: 2 weeks into braces and still somewhat unsure of it?

Hi I currently am using the Damon braces also (self litigating) and all that means is that we do not need to wear rubber bands to hold the wire in place, or require the Ortho to constantly adjust the wire, as this system allows the wire to move freely between the brackets as it straightens itself ou...

Re: Damon v 3m clarity

I can't compare to the 3M, but the damon ceramic seemed really bulky to me, they are definitely much bulkier than the metal, and my ortho said they would need to be place a bit closer to the gum line also. I went with the Damon metal and they aren't bothersome at all as far as sores and poking brack...

Re: Just started second round of braces!

Congratulations! Why are you headed for round 2? I just joined today and I am on day 2 of metal braces. Was it much extra to go invisalign for half your treatment? Invisalign was going to be almost 10k for me! I decided not to go that route since I may or may not have had flared teeth at the end.
