Was told I need gum graft
I got my bottom braces on two days ago and my orthodontist told me that I would 100% need a gum graft from a periodontist on one of my bottom canines and possibly on the other one. So I am supposed to get this done within the month before I go back for my next appointment. Does anyone know if this i...

Re: Who knew these tiny blue spacers could hurt so much....
Yeah they can be pretty rough. I have 4 in my bottom molars right now, for me personally there really isn't any pain or discomfort when I'm not eating, I actually can't even tell they are in. But when I bite into anything even remotely solid there is quite a bit of pain and I gotta be careful when I...

Re: First Day with braces....
[quote="BeagleHQ"]Thanks so much everyone!! The pain is better and I can eat somewhat better, but my molars still don't come anywhere near each other. I'm a week and a half in and adjusted some, but I am still constantly aware of their presence and usually want to rip them off with pliers....

Re: First Day with braces....
Hey Beagle, I feel what you're goin through cause I got mine on two days ago. Actually just the tops but then they also put spacers in my bottom molars. So it hurts like hell to even try to eat anything remotely solid and it's pretty much constant discomfort with just the feeling of the foreign meta...

Re: How much did you guys pay for your braces?
My braces total cost = $5,800 Ceramic on top and metal on the bottom, mine is a surgical case not sure if this factored into the price or not, but this is the all inclusive price for x rays, molds, etc. My surgery cost (2 piece Lefort 1) = $4,500 including splint This is probably the negotiated pric...

Just got braces on today
So I'm 28, actually had braces for a couple years as a kid back in 5th and 6th grade. Man I definitely didn't miss this feeling haha! Nothing could have prepared me for how weird this feels today since it has been so long since I've had braces that Ive had 15 years to forget how they actually feel. ...

Confused about two piece Lefort
I've tried to search google and many sites for an exact diagram of this but didn't have any luck. I know the basics of this procedure with the splitting the maxilla in two to also widen it, but I was wondering if anyone knows exactly how the widening part works? If the maxilla is severed right down ...
