Re: Who has the bonded (permanent) retainer on upper teeth?
I got mine last week and I've been completely fine with it! I occasionally bite on it but it doesn't bother me too much. In regards to flossing, I just floss until I reach the retainer and then stop. I can't feel it when my mouth is closed as my tongue doesn't reach it. It hasn't affected speech or ...

Teeth still moving?
Anyone with retainers... How long did it take for your teeth to stop moving? I've made my braces off for 3 months now, and my ortho has said I can now switch to just night time wear of my retainer, but every night when I go to put my essix in, in feels quite tight where my teeth have obviously moved...

Re: Will an untreated overjet cause me problems?
Hey! I expressed my concerns to my ortho during my debrace appointment, and she reassured me that the overjet/overbite I have falls within the normal rage. The higher end of normal mind, but normal none the less. She said it should be fine, and if I have any problems then just made an appointment an...

Should your bottom teeth touch the back of your top?
I had braces for three years to fix my underbite, and I've recently got them off. However, I'm not used to how things are feeling. When I bite down, I can feel my bottom teeth touch the backs of my top teeth. Is this normal? Obviously I've never had this before with my underbite, so I'm not sure if ...

Re: Those who have been in braces for 3 years or more
I was estimated 12 months at aged 18 and they ended up on for 3 years because they kept finding more hidden problems!

Re: Help! Braces just off no retainer for a week.
It'll be fine. I had 6 days after being debraced before I got my retainer and my teeth shifted in that time too. The retainer feels tight at first but it moves the teeth back into their old position within hours.

How long until bite settles?
I had my brace removed 5 days ago (yay!) and I'm picking my retainer up tomorrow. I've read that teeth can shift a little bit while you wait for a retainer, and that your bite can change a bit anyway after braces are off, but mine feels horrible! It felt fine the day my braces were removed but now i...

Getting braces off tomorrow... nervous!
I'm due to get my braces off tomorrow but my teeth feel really weird at the moment and it's making me nervous! I've had bands coming off my canines for about 4 months now but my canines still feel really weird. They feel kind of wobbly. I'm really nervous that if they are wobbly now, applying pressu...

I have the same problem! I used to have quite defined cheekbones, but no longer :( I've yet to find a solution though :(

Will an untreated overjet cause me problems?
I've had quite a journey with my braces! I first got them fitted 3 years ago to fix crooked teeth, spacing, and my slight underbite. The first two years of treatment were fine, I had some extractions and my teeth straightened up and my underbite went. I was given bands to wear to fix the last stage ...

Braces coming off too soon?
I have had braces on for almost 3 years now, and I have an appointment to get them removed in 4 weeks. However, I don't think they're ready to come off. My midline is off (shifted noticeably to the left), and I still have quite a large overjet. However, my ortho x-rayed me on our last appointment, a...
