Done!

I went in for the implant crowns today and they turned out great. They are a perfect color match and are translucent just like my real teeth. They look like I grew them myself. I finally have a smile that I can be proud of. [img][img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/katherineator/th...

The Brushpiks were great when I was in braces. They flex to get under the archwire and get gunk out without you having to worry about damaging the braces or archwire. I always got them at Eckerd and they come in pink, light blue, and light green.

The abscess is healed up and I went back to the dentist today to determine the color of the implant crowns. He said that he's using porcelain crowns on ceramic abutments. I'm pleased with this since I know that no metal means very natural looking teeth. He said my teeth have so many colors in them t...

To date I've tried Crest Whitestrips, Rembrandt 2 hour white, and Zoom! Weekender. The whitestrips work, but they tend to slide around on your teeth, they take several weeks to work, and they make your teeth sensitive. The Rembrandt didn't work at all. I got the Zoom! gel from the Z whitening store ...

implant infection

I've been whitening for a week now and things are looking good. My dentist had given me Opalescence and somehow that gel must have found a cavity in one of my teeth because it hurt like crazy. I switched to Zoom 6% Z formula and find that it doesn't cause as much sensitivity as the Opalescence. A fe...

Wow! I just got done reading all six pages of this thread and I am impressed with what you've been through since September. That palatal expander has done quite a bit even though it hasn't given you enough room for the canines. Good luck with your surgery. I had my wisdom teeth removed under local a...

Thanks, guys. I had the appointment with my dentist today and he remarked about how much I had gone through. He decided to have mercy on me and is going to give me whitening gel and trays for only $40. They took impressions for the trays today and I should get them next Tuesday. He gave me a high fi...

It's not over yet!

I am now a member of the naked tooth club! Debanding was done mostly on January 31...all but the upper central incisors and the upper canines. This was so that my fake lateral incisors could stay wired into my braces while the retainers were made. One week later I got retainers and had the rest of t...

Debanding is all set for January 31. I had more problems with the temporary tooth, so I rewired it myself. The ortho's assistant thought I was crazy, but hey, it works and the ortho did not tell her to take my wire off. Ahhhhh....DIY orthodontics.

Update: I had implant surgery on November 18. It was not bad, although at one point I did feel the drill, but the periodontist injected more lidocaine and it was okay after that. When he was done he gave me a box of chocolates shaped like dental implants. I was being all polite to everyone when I wa...

Update

Periodontist says the new x-rays show that there is enough room for the implants! Yippeee! :GapToothed: Implant surgery is scheduled for November 18 and three months later I should be ready for the permanent crowns. I might actually get out of braces sometime this century!

Kathy in VA's missing laterals saga

The problem: I had a space between my upper left "lateral incisor" and central incisor due to some splaying. I didn't like this and thought fixing this problem would be just a quick cosmetic fix, perhaps with veneers. Additionally, I had a significant overbite, retained primary (baby) uppe...
