Re: What does it feel like on the first day with braces?
WAX IS YOUR BEST FRIEND, try and keep some with you so your mouth/lips don't get cut if their are any sharp areas.
Normally braces are only used in extreme cases.
Make sure you keep them clean, they can stay on as long as a year, and they can do some damage within that time.

Re: July Surgery Group??
Why have temporary surgery (your jaw eventually repairs it self and reverses the surgery)? You can have your upper jaw lengthened (grown) forward to its correct position using headgear (worn at nights), and allows the lower jaw to come forward into its correct position, allowing room for the tongue,...

Re: Cosmetic Jaw Surgery
If you didn't have extractions then it should be very easy to fix you jaw position. (Might even be able do it with removable appliances instead of fixed appliances like braces)

Re: Implants after extraction !!
Orthodontics do not know how to position teeth, they only do extractions and pull them inwards. EVERYONE (eventually) reacts to the treatment with damaged faces, reduced sleeping, and no room for their tongue. IT CAN BE REVERSED, AT ANY AGE. Look for Orthotropic's. They are not allowed to advertise,...

Re: Cosmetic Jaw Surgery
Only 3 months for the upper jaw, and created spaces for 2 missing teeth to be replaced, then another 3 months for the lower jaw (as my upper jaw needed to be widened and lengthened first, so my lower jaw could come froward in the space created, which corrected all my jaw joint problems). My mum also...

Re: Cosmetic Jaw Surgery
Bones maintain them selves, they will eventually get back (physiology can not be tricked). Sounds like you have a lot of function problems, and surgery will only make it worse. Orthodontics pull teeth inwards and back with no consideration for the tongue (which shapes the jaw), air ways and jaw join...

Re: Recontouring Teeth Question
Wow, filling teeth down to make them fit is completely against nature, it will not only damage your face but also weaken the sides of the teeth and make it impossible to measure the correct width for your jaw (jaw arch measurements are from the width of the teeth). Overcrowding is caused by underdev...

Re: Cosmetic Jaw Surgery
I had a similar problem, (usually caused by extractions). I went to an orthotropic (they do the opposite to orthodontics, as they correct the problem) when the upper jaw is under developed, it restricts the lower jaw (it can be lengthened via headgear and widened via an expander, to allow the lower ...
