Re: Does the Lisp Ever Go Away?
Hey there! Just an update! I've now had my aligners for 7 months and i can report MOST of the time my lisp is not really there too much. It IS still there though, but not a bother.

Re: Does the Lisp Ever Go Away?
Yes...I actually suspect it may never go away. I have one without the aligners in and it just gets much more pronounced when they're in.
I find I just have nowhere to put my tongue that sounds "clean" when I say S and also T.

Re: Aligners shift slightly on front top teeth with chewies
Thank you :) Yes, this has happened the whole time, all the way through my first tray and ever since I moved to the second tray also. I find it's a noticeable shifting when I bite down on the chewy right at the front with those two teeth, the aligner moves up about 1mm and when I release the chewy, ...

Aligners shift slightly on front top teeth with chewies
Each time i put my aligners in after eating and brushing, i use my chewy for just a minute or so. I find no real effect from doing this, apart from mild itch-type pain and the fact i can visibly see the aligners moving on the two front-most top teeth. When i bite down, they push up higher on those t...

Re: HELP!!!!! Cannot get aligners in or out!
It's ok!! I'm ok! Call off the police and ambulance! lol I used NAIL SCISSORS to get the bottom ones off, and they popped off SO easily. THANK GOD! I have tried to bend the top one back into its regular shape and now they are soaking in a glass of warm water while I eat a delicious bowl of cereal, a...

HELP!!!!! Cannot get aligners in or out!
So...I was not meant to switch to my second set of aligners until Sunday night, but this morning when I went to put my top ones back in (first set), they just refused to fit. This is because of a problem that has been there ever since I first got them (and noted by the orthodontist staff too) which ...

Re: Newbie needing help - Invisalign THEN braces
Wearing the aligners is quite good! I actually feel naked and odd with them out so prefer wearing them than not, which is good! No pain, not much pressure or discomfort on the first days and none after that at all. Lisp-city though. lol

Re: Does the Lisp Ever Go Away?
Hmmm, yes. I think the invisalign lisp would definitely be more minor than some other orthodontic treatment.
I had metal braces back as a teenager (WAAAY back, heheh) but don't recall a lisp then.

Re: One week with my aligners!
Oh, thank you!! Very good to know I'm not alone in the Drools McGee thing! lol
Also good to know that those slight gaps underneath my teeth are normal.
I MUST try and get my fingernails a bit longer so I can try to pry out the aligners from the inside. Hopefully that'll be more successful!

Re: Permanent retainers after treatment complete?
Yes, this is the type of retainer I want, as similar to invisalign as possible but longer lasting so I don't have to sell my organs to pay for them on an ongoing basis! lol

Re: don't have time to brush your teeth when you are out?
I have only had mine on for a week, and have decided that it's too hard when I'm out on weekends to brush properly in the toilet, without water, so from now on I just use my interdental brush to remove food particles, rinse my mouth thoroughly and my aligners, and pop them back in. It looks less odd...

Re: refinements = discouraged
This is what I fear. Originally I was told 9 months for my treatment, and I assumed maybe 1-1.5 years including the many refinements I expect I will need. But now I see I have 42 aligners...so...if I have to do even ONE refinement and that's another 20-30 aligners, OH MY GOD, I'll be 100 by the time...

Permanent retainers after treatment complete?
I am happy to wear the fixed wires behind my front-most 6 top and bottom teeth forever, but I have some questions... 1. I've heard these wires tend to break a lot. Is this because they're flimsy or because your teeth are still moving and putting too much pressure on them? 2. If they're only on the f...
