I have had an expander in before I got my braces. Had to have surgery for it to expand my palate. I still have our in now with braces. The only pain you may have is when you tighten it.

You'll eventually get used to it, especially if you have it in as long as I have.

In nearly 4 months in and usually have a headache when I wake up.

Seems normal. I'm 4 months in as well and have had many changes in length and movement.

Yes I wasn't happy with the way my teeth looked when I first got braces as well. But as others have said, they get better, fast. I'm nearly 4 months in and I can't remember the last time my teeth were this straight. Not to say they are perfect as I have much more room to improve.

Getting mine on next Tuesday. I'm 25 and should've got braces much much earlier. Better late then never right?
