You know it actually wouldn't have bothered me so much if he had said, it is going to take another year. But they way he had put it was, well it says here that you have to stay braced till May 08. A answer like that from a tech wouldn't have bothered me, but I think I just wanted more clarifcation f...

? about time in braces

Okay, I am going to try and not be confusing. I got my braces on in Sept 05. My ortho then said that I would have them on for 18-24 months. I moved May 06. The ortho I went to then said, yeah, probably 18-24 months. Then in Dec my ortho here had health problems. I started to see the ortho that took ...

pain on just one tooth

Okay, I tried to search, but it is about impossible to search about pain on this board  I have had one tooth pain before, but usually I shortly see the tooth move and then the pain stops. I really meant to ask the ortho last time about this but forgot, I am also pregnant and my memory has gone ...

disapointing adjustment

So yesterday I had my adjusment. Went in the assitent took off my ligs and said we had to wait for the doc. He comes in says how great everything is moving. He says to change my top wire from a 17 or something to a 18. And to put something else on my bottoms, I think it was to change the material, l...

I have always had problems like this also. Most of mine have actually been before braces, I haven't tried to get a drink out in a long time, breastfeeding, and my 3 yr old has a tendency to drink out of my glass  But some funny ones, I was I think 22, so just over the drinking age and tried to...

I kinda had the same thing happen. Both on my right side, had four extractions. The top wasn't so bad, it was just a small sliver. But the bottom hurt for a very long time. I thought I had dry socket. And it looked ugly, all red and swollen. It very much upset me because my ortho thought I wasn't ta...

They told me that things needed to straighten out first. What bugs me is that my tops are straight, and that is the gap that bugs me most, it feels HUGE, but no powerchains there yet. On my bottoms they have powerchain just from the incisors the first molar then the gap and the next molar, my back m...

Thank you I will surely ask for that next time. It isn't that far away. I have had braces on for almost 2 months, it only bugs me every so often. My bottoms have powerchains from the front to the back so it kinda covers the wire, but the tops... And he put a new thicker wire on it. The bottoms were ...

wires in between extractions killing my cheeks

Okay, so I had four extractions, all premolars. The wire that runs between the spaces digs into my cheeks. I have like slice marks. I have tried using wax to kinda bridge in between, but it only woks so well as it will start to cut through the wax also. So is there something else I can do? It hurts ...

There are mouthwashes at your local health food store that are alchohol free, but are antiseptic. Mine fore example has things like grapefruit seed extract, dead sea salt, zinc, calcium, witch hazel, aloe, neem, tree tea oil, clove, cinnamon, calendula. There are more, but they are for gum health, en...

Then, part way through our conversation he must have noticed my braces because he says "I really like the bracelets on your teeth!". His mom said that he calls braces "bracelets". I thought it was pretty cute! My daughter who is going to be four in a few months calls them bracel...

I have gotten them also. Mostly from friends. Haven't had any from strangers though yet. I was not expecting it, but it is kinda nice, to get, they really look cute on you and other such comments. I have gotten the younger comment, though I don't like it just yet. I am 26, and still get carded witho...

I acrtually just got braces two weeks ago. My one very crooked tooth on the bottom, I think it is my incisor, is starting to stick out. You can see like it is trying to come out of the gum. But there is a lot of movement I hope that is going on down there. I am heading to the dentist on Saturday, so...

Actually it looks like it may have been an infection. 24 hours after I started the antibiotics I started feeling better. For some reason the tylenol 3 still only works for 2 hours and then I am miserable. And the motrin now takes away a lot of the pain. I actually don't think I am going to die now. ...

teeth extraction question

I asked in the surgery forum, but haven't had any response. I had four teeth removed on Tuesday. I believe they were the first bicuspid on top and the seconds on bottom. I have been in extreme pain since. It took two hours to have them removed. I guess I have very long and curved roots. I went to be...
