I may be weird..
but I never used wax during my treatment.
Maybe I just have a higher pain tolerance?

Tips for the Newbies and Miserable
I have noticed several posts from those who are new/miserable with braces asking for tips and advice. I thought it would be neat to have that all in one thread! I remember my first month of braces... WOW it was the longest month of my life. It is not almost 18 months later and I can't believe how ti...

Re: Top Braces/Bottom Braces Question
They will usually brace the area that needs more work. If your bottom teeth are kind of straight, they will wait until later. It also takes less time for the bottoms to move. Just some things to consider.. I can't comment on your case specifically but my orth waited 3 months before adding bottom bra...

Re: Woah. Huge change in appointments. Any thoughts?
Woah 3-4 week appointments? I've had braces for about 6 months, appointments always 8 weeks apart. Does your orthodontist do all the work themselves? I don't always see her. More often than not I see one of the assistants. She changes the wires, offers me dental supplies and off I go. My orthodonti...

Re: any of you get teeth implants after braces?
Hello there!
I am missing two teeth at the moment and will have to get implants after braces treatment. It IS costly..mine will cost close to 3,000 (I live in Texas) but I really think it's worth it.
otherwise, your jaw line may change, etc.

Re: Woah. Huge change in appointments. Any thoughts?
Every 3 to 4 weeks seems a bit on the short side so I can imagine it feels strange going to 2 months. Ask your ortho. I don't always get very satisfactory answers when I ask questions - as you said, it's so routine for them but the biggest deal for the rest of us! Is there not a lot of moving thing...

Re: do we all have moments where it feels like our progress stopped?
I went through the same thing!~ My teeth were beyond crazy-messed up and at the beginning, it was the most exciting part of the treatment. Now that everything is where it should be, things are moving slower and I notice less and less. But, I promise things ARE moving, you just can't tell as much. :)...

Re: Woah. Huge change in appointments. Any thoughts?
With a rectangular wire (which you probably have by now), fresh ligatures are not as important. As dj said, if you don't have powerchains, there's really no inherent requirement for frequent appointments. Once all the teeth are in line, the stage where the rectangular wires finishes things up is no...

Woah. Huge change in appointments. Any thoughts?
Hey everyone! First let me say that I thoroughly enjoy reading posts on this forum! I usually read during my lunch time or at home before bed. I just had a question that maybe someone would be able to answer only because I forgot to ask my orthodonist before I left my last appointment. I've been in ...
