Thanks Steph, yes am using wax now 24 hours a day, even at work (hopefully no one can see these bits hanging off haha), day six and still sore as heck. I have a less stronger toothpaste and will try and find that mouth rinse you mentioned.

Im in the same boat. Am really thin and havent eaten much in the four days Ive had the braces. Its so sore with the mouth ulcers and my molars now dont touch, so I havent yet figured out how to actually chew. Dave, Im 48 too and just had mine on for 4 days now. Have lots of sores and its not really fun, but I keep thinking of the end result, have wanted this for years. Damian, I have a lisp too, ohhhh no, Im finding it a bit embarrassing and am trying my hardest to talk properly. Hope this goes away soon.

Its only day four - and have lots of canker sore things in my mouth and can barely eat. How long did it take for everyone for their mouths to settle down? I am using the wax stuff, bonjela and salt water mouth wash. argggh I didn't think it would be this bad. I need to toughen up !
