I couldn't find any Waterpiks here in Oz, either (even though there's supposed to be a company that imports them here). I ended up buying a National "Doltz" Jet Washer when I was in Japan earlier this year. http://ctlg.national.jp/product/image.do?pg=10&vhb=EW1211-W&ghj=2 I have to...

My wisdom teeth felt very "itchy" when they were coming through and sometimes they even tickled (and not in a good way :( ) It definitely wasn't my gums as the sensation felt like it was coming from deep within the tooth. There was nothing I could do to make it stop but it went away eventu...

Amazing progress, Kitty! I'll be in retainers and FINALLY be able to get the professional Zoom whitening done. That was the reason I went to my dentist in the first place. He was the one who sent me to an ortho! This is EXACTLY what happened to me! I was expecting to pay a few hundred dollars to mak...

Thanks for the heads up, Kim...it sounds awesome, I might order some for myself, too.
I used to constantly chomp on Recaldent mints when I was living in Japan. It's great to know I can get the same product here in Oz.

I was so eager to get my braces on that I didn't really think about any disadvantages. So far I've had next to no pain and the only disadvantage (extra cleaning/flossing) is really an advantage if you think about it. I just had my archwire changed yesterday and I am on the soup and yoghurt diet agai...

Wow, Geri! Your story is almost the same as mine. I had four teeth extracted and a retainer when I was thirteen. The ortho (he trained in the UK btw) assured me that the gaps would close, my wisdom teeth would come through and everything would be fine. Fast forward fifteen years and I have a 110% ov...

bejay23, don't worry! They are most definitely working. My teeth didn't hurt at all for the first few days and the only pain I have experienced in the last two months has been no worse than a mild toothache. Even then, it's only when I bite. My teeth have most definitely been moving around, though. ...

Hi Barbie, I had Damons put on my top teeth two months ago and I have noticed that my smile does seem broader. The archwire seems to be broadening the arch of my teeth on its own and the arch of my top teeth (braced) is now much wider than the arch on my bottom teeth (not braced). My teeth are doing...

Another one for the Aussie crew!

It took a little while for the list to come up, I had to write Brisbane, Queensland before anything came up.

Amazing to actually see where everyone is!

It looks like the oral b superfloss is the only threaderfloss available in Oz. :(

I agree with Aussierob that the colgate total floss is great. It doesn't shred and it slides between my teeth very easily. Using a floss threader is a bit of a pain, though.

I absolutely LOVE my sonic complete. I like the fact that it brushes and massages at the same time and the angled bristles make it easier to clean brackets. It is expensive though, and replacement brushes are $20 for two. I wouldn't use anything else though... btw Freckles,I think I've seen the Soni...

Thanks for your reply, swellen! Australia is so behind when it comes to this kind of thing. Thanks for the idea about the dentist, I might check it out. I'll probably end up buying one in Japan at the end of the year, though. SPAMTRONIC SPAMSONIC SPAMONAIDE SPAMSTER SPAM SPAMINATOR has a rather nice...

I decided to get healthy and get gorgeous while I'm here and fixing my teeth is something I have always wante...

Waterpik in Australia?

I was just wondering if any of our Aussie posters have found a Waterpik (or something similar) at their local shops. Oral-B has a combination brush and oral irrigator set but I'm not willing to shell out $200 for it. (and I already have a fabulous Sonic Complete brush!) I know that Waterpik website ...

Thanks for your reply, David. I'm actually an Aussie (sorry!) :) I'm 29 and my previous orthodontic treatment was just over 16 years ago. I think that my family had financial constraints at the time and couldn't afford full braces. My current ortho explained that my front teeth had slipped back afte...
