Re: Best way to clean a clear retainer - hints and tips please!
Man, it's been forever since I've been on this forum. lol I had my braces off almost 4 years. I've been using RetainerBrite every day on my Essix retainers. I keep my retainers in the solution with water until it's time for me to put them on again before bed. I read that the retainers should last up...

Re: Not much longer to go!
My braces were removed on schedule. I've had them off for approximately 3 weeks. My ortho put me in an Essix retainer on the top and Invisalign on the bottom to do a minor correction that braces weren't doing. I go back in a couple days to have a bonded retainer on top and bottom and remolded for Es...

Re: How do you keep your teeth looking white?
I used a baking soda based whitening toothpaste before and after braces. I had no stains on my teeth when debanded 2 weeks ago.

Re: Tea/coffee stains on teeth.
I was just debanded 2 weeks ago. I drank coffee the entire time (2 years) I was in braces. I brushed 3-4 times a day with a baking soda based whitening toothpaste (I won't post the brand). When the braces came off, I had absolutely no stains whatsoever and my teeth are very white. It's the same toot...

Not much longer to go!
Had an appointment today. I go back in 2 weeks. Shortest time I've ever had between appointments. I'm guessing this next one will determine if I'm ready to be debanded. Crossing my fingers!

Gum contouring thoughts
During one of my orthodontic visits, I asked my orthodontist about possible dental bonding on my upper lateral incisors since they have been worn down due to their position prior to braces. They are at a bit of an angle. She said that the upper lateral incisors usually appear to be at an angle but i...

Re: I have a question
Well, so far, it looks like I won't need an expander or teeth pulled! I've been wearing my elastics diligently and I have more than enough space for my teeth! So happy I don't have to lose any teeth or wear a painful expander. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled 21 yrs ago so I had the room for mo...

Re: New to elastics
Wow has it been a long time since I posted. I got my bottom power chain about 3 months ago. I had my appointment yesterday. As my orthodontist has said the past 3 visits, I am ahead of treatment. It pays to listen to your orthodontists! :D She said we were going to do a bit of adjustment. Wasn't sur...

Re: What did your ortho "give" you?
I was given a $200 Sonicare toothbrush with UV sanitizer, an $80 Sonicare Airfloss Pik, wax, and a creepy picture of what your teeth will look like if you don't brush thoroughly with braces. lol The picture is the cherry on top right? At least they gave you the Sonicare. Maybe that's their tactic t...

Re: New to elastics
The pain eases up after a few days, so don't worry. Each time I've had to wear a new configuration, it hurts for a while and then gradually subsides. The key is to wear them as prescribed otherwise the pain is always "new". Agreed on the cheek lacerations. They suck. It's finally eased up...

New to elastics
So, I've had my braces on 7 months now. I had a feeling, before this last appointment, that I was going to be started on elastics and I was right. Holy moly cow are my teeth sore STILL 4 days later! Is this supposed to be a constant thing the entire time I'm using elastics? I had the bottom wire cha...

Re: I have a question
I would be in the severe overcrowded category. The first 6 months my teeth have moved super fast. I thought the bottom was worse but they're almost completely aligned. My top would be close if it wasn't for that one lateral incisor that I had the bracket repositioned. She did mention at my consultat...

I have a question
So, far my teeth have been moving really really fast (It's been 6 months now). My bottom teeth are almost completely aligned. During my last appointment, the orthodontist had to remove and reposition a bracket on one of my lateral incisors. Both the top lateral incisors were set far back prior to br...

Re: 44 with braces feeling overwhelmed by removable plate
[quote="amy2015"]It has been nearly six weeks. At 3 weeks I noticed some mobility in a front lower tooth which has a coil spring attached to it. The tooth would click if I pushed it with my tongue. Called the Ortho who insisted I come in. He reinforced the mobile tooth so that it would con...
