Re: Can you clear something up for me?
I've got about 6 weeks left of treatment *fingers crossed*, but my ortho says to me it would have been over by now if I'd gone with metal rather than ceramic because ceramic have more friction. I don't really understand this. Surely having more friction on the teeth means they would move quicker? O...

Re: when did you realize you wanted to get your smile fixed?
Always hated by smile due to 'fang' teeth and misaligned front teeth. People always told me they didn't see what I was talking about, but I saw it. The final straw came when we had formal photos done on holiday and the photographer made me smile showing my teeth. I hated the photos so much, I phoned...

Re: How long did you find it difficult to eat for?
Well finally after just over 2 months, I can eat most things without discomfort. Still have no use of my front four unless it's soft food such as crustless bread. Just went for my first adjustment, my 'fangs' have moved really well, but my other teeth not so much, so I've had no wire change, just lo...

Re: Confess your orthodontic sins.
I'm pretty stuff for the most part, but: - I drink tea several times a day through a straw. They will not take that away from me. - I drink coffee a couple of times a week through a straw. - I drink Diet Coke a couple of times a week. - I don't floss (because I can't, it hurts too much). - I eat tom...

[quote="autumn9285"]I have had my braces for almost two months (just had my second adjustment today) and its still rough for me to eat. Every day I have different sore teeth so it can be a struggle. I am sure its different for everyone. I have never know the struggle of eating a burger unt...

Re: How long did you find it difficult to eat for?
[quote="bracefaceekimmie"]I've had Mines on since May, and I still can't eat right. I can't bite with my front teeth. Everything must be chewed with my back right side. It sucks. I've lost 9 pounds. I miss eating. But my front teeth have been moving alot, so I'm guessing that's the reason....

Re: How long did you find it difficult to eat for?
[quote="newbite"]The worst pain I've had was when my top front teeth finally started to straighten (after 6 months and 6 wire changes!). I totally understand you not being able to eat normally when your front teeth are moving. I've had pain off and on throughout treatment, but it was someh...

How long did you find it difficult to eat for?
Sorry if this has been posted before, I did a search but there were so many terms, I couldn't get a specific thread. I've had my ceramics (top only) on for over a month now and I'm still finding eating really quite difficult. I can still only chew relatively soft foods, have no use of my front 4 tee...

First time with braces in my 20's!
Hello everyone! I never had the brace experience as a teenager. I was always told I didn't need a brace as I didn't have a problem with my bite. However I have always hated my upper teeth. My 'fangs' are twisted, which gives me a bit of a vampire look and my front 8 teeth although straight are all m...
