Re: Elastics
I got class IIs this week as well. Boooo. I wasn't so fussed till I spent an hour being forced to look at myself in the mirror at the hairdressers this morning and realised how totally ridiculous they look when I'm speaking. Urgh.

Crappy communication - rant
Heyy So it's still early days but I really don't rate my orthodontic nurse too much. I went today for my first adjustment and like the previous twice I've seen her (ie, first getting braced and having to go back cos of a bracket popping off) aside from asking how I was getting on she spent the whole...

About a fortnight, and that's with bite blocks. Kinda good but I was also pretty happy about losing half a stone after a week of soup and smoothies lol, which has now all piled back on and then some.

Re: Adults With metal braces - are you happy with your choice?
Yep. Aside all the better stuff I can do with the money I saved, I feel like if I got ceramics I'd be even more self conscious of the fact it looked like I was trying to hide the fact I had braces... If that makes sense?

Re: Pre extractions and braces tips?! Maybe some positive stories?!
Hey Handsdown. Sounds pretty similar to my situ, "moderate" (although yeah, I'd have thought severe) crowding to both arches and I had to have four extractions. Urgh. Firstly, I'd avoid planning anything for the few hours after your extractions. The ortho assistants said I'd be fine to car...

Re: Newbie... Q about ligs
Thanks! Oh, I didn't realise it was the ortho's choice and not mine which brackets were used. He guessed 18-24 months (gahhh) but hadn't specified with which type of braces. Well I thought so but no matter now as a whole bracket's gone and popped off since I posted that so I'm gonna have to get an a...

Newbie... Q about ligs
Hi, Been lurking for a while but finally got braced today and already need some help! Firstly for some reason I assumed my ortho only did sef-ligating braces and as such had read up on the benefits of these. All I was ever asked re choice of braces was whether I wanted metal or ceramic, and being al...
