I always had people asking me why I hadn't fixed my teeth! My teeth are pretty bad so there's no questioning my need for them, although I find it amusing just how many people think braces are simply for cosmetic reasons.

I always feel the same way but I'm brushing at least 3 times daily, using mouthwash and flossing every night so I'm sure they aren't as dirty as we probably think they are . ..the fact that these braces seem to make my teeth look yellow doesn't really help though lol

They offered me ceramic on too for an additional 400 dollars....I declined as I really didn't want to spend an extra 400 just so they'd be less noticeable. I don't regret that decision. I'm good with my metal brackets
