Re: Overcoming phobia for a pretty smile :)

Hi all, just checking in to see how you're all doing? I have a weird thing going on... my second incisor (next to my front teeth) brackets have started cutting the inside of my lip up for the first time, 2.5 weeks in. Does that mean they've moved, or is it just that 2 weeks of constant rubbing has j...

Re: Overcoming phobia for a pretty smile :)

That biteplate looks a little like an instrument of torture :| I'm not surprised eating is almost impossible! Do you have to wear it for very much longer?

I'm very close to Easton. Small world! :-*

Re: Overcoming phobia for a pretty smile :)

Hi Teeebeee, Thank you. I had to go in this morning to get my bite guards adjusted as my top teeth were banging on the bottom front brackets - even that still made me feel a little sick with nerves....Not sure I'll ever be *totally* over it, but getting this far is good enough for me! I am in that a...

Re: Overcoming phobia for a pretty smile :)

Hi IrishSmiles Sorry to sound silly, but what is a biteplate? I hope things get better for you. I think I probably should have gone the long term route, but as I only managed to talk myself in to a consultation a few months ago and I get married next August, I didn't have time. I'll just have to do ...

Re: Six Month Braces UK - 42 F

DaisySmith - I'm fairly sure you're long gone from this thread and off enjoying your beautiful, straight, white teeth - but I just wanted to say what a fun read this was. I'm on day 6 now and already I feel like I've had them on forever. I can totally relate to everything you've said. I have already...

Re: Six Month Smiles - really six months??

Thanks Newbite and MetalliKa :) I think I'm just overthinking it because I've wanted nice teeth for so long. If I need to, I'll keep the braces on until the week before the wedding...but I can't face seeing family I haven't seen in years and in some cases meeting my OH's family for the first time wi...

Re: Overcoming phobia for a pretty smile :)

Through a regular dentist. So far I've mainly heard negative reviews on here of 6MS v regular orthodontics so I think I should possibly stay off the boards and see for myself in 6 months. :D I didn't feel long term orthodontics were for me as I'm approaching 40 and just overcoming dental phobia to g...

Re: Six Month Smiles - really six months??

Thanks both. Perhaps I should stop asking questions I might not want to hear the answer to... I feel a bit bummed out now and like I might have thrown away a whole LOAD of money on something I might not get great results from. What I probably should have done is done it 3 years ago and gone with the...

Six Month Smiles - really six months??

Hi all, I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place - I hope so. I have just got Six Month Smiles fitted, and having read a few stories I'm wondering how often it takes a lot longer? My ortho originally said mine will be between 6 and 8 months, but having heard some of the comments to his as...

Overcoming phobia for a pretty smile :)

Hi everyone, I'm 37 and I got Six Month Smile braces fitted 2 days ago. I really only thought about getting braces last summer, as I've struggled since childhood with dental phobia. I just got so fed up with people telling me to smile for photos and saying things like 'cheer up, it might never happe...

Re: 34 y/o female putting dental phobia aside and getting braces

Hi, I'm 37 and have severe dental phobia. Got my braces 2 days ago because I hated my smile so much. So nice to hear that lots have gone through the same. I'll be watching your braces journeys! Good luck everyone
