I was really, really hoping for invisalign, but because my palate needs to be expanded most orthos are saying it is just not the best route. I'll be sure to follow along with your progress!lilyflower wrote: Entirely Invisalign unless for some reason it doesn't work and I have to go conventional braces after.

Re: Options to correct Overbite+crossbite. Advice from experienced bracers?
Surgery really should be a last resort and only if multiple orthodontists agree that it would be best. That's a major trauma to your body compared to an unpleasant appliance or extractions. With your issues you're probably going to have to end up with one less than fun appliance for some period of ...

Re: Options to correct Overbite+crossbite. Advice from experienced bracers?
Great advice! I will look into this. I have a couple more consults coming this week. My crossbite is quite bad which I think is the real problem but if I can avoid surgery AND nasty appliances that would be ideal!

Re: Invisalign G5 for Deep Bite
Interesting. I also have a deep bite and invisalign was mentioned as a possibility. I was however told it would be a slower and more challenging treatment and the results might not be as perfect as if I were to get conventional braces. I however also have a crossbite which complicates matter. From w...

Re: Braces instead of surgery?
I was told as a teenager that I would need braces and jaw surgery. I got neither, and now (as an adult) I am set to get braces soon. My ortho said she didn't think I would need surgery. And the other ones I consulted said likely I wouldn't need it either. Has anyone els...

Re: Age 23+, Maxillary expansion without surgery. Experiences?
I'm also about to embark on this journey! 26 and expanding without surgery. My ortho wants to do SME first with a removable Schwartz appliance, then braces combined with a quad helix. It seems a ton of people have had success expanding without surgery on this forum. My ortho said he regularly achiev...

Re: Quad helix
Hi Emmaalouisee97, any news on the quad helix? I had a consult with an ortho yesterday and he mentioned that this would be needed in my treatment. I'm curious to hear a bit about it. It look scary!

Options to correct Overbite+crossbite. Advice from experienced bracers?
Hi all, I'm about to take the dive in! I posted a hello note here and got some great encouragement which finally pushed me over the edge - I am doing this!!! I've had two consults and the message is about the same from each. Apparently my combination of crossbite and overbite makes things not as tri...

Opinions here, for those who went old fashioned metal, would you have preferred invisalign?
I think the metal ones are better able to move complicated teeth
This was definitely mentioned by the ortho I saw. He said the invisalign would be a longer tre...

Re: Hi. Want braces, but I'm hesitant. Hoping to find the inspiration here!
Thanks for the encouragement! Honestly, it makes a huge difference seeing how happy people here are with their decision to go through with treatment. I visited an ortho this morning and got some treatment options. I could be a candidate for invisalign but it comes with a higher price tag. Although I...

Hi. Want braces, but I'm hesitant. Hoping to find the inspiration here!
Hi all, I'm new here, so I thought I'd introduce myself! I've been following some of your stories for a while but I'm excited to fully join the community. I'm 26 years old and I had braces for 2 years as a teenager. I was NEVER happy with the result and it has been bothering me almost daily for near...
