Elastics causing gaps?

Hey, everyone. I'm about 9 months in now. Got my first elastics a little over 3 weeks ago. The one on my right is a triangle configuration: canine and first pre-molar on the top connected to first premolar on the bottom. I'd noticed floss going between my first and 2nd pre-molars on the top much eas...

Re: Is it normal to have numb front teeth?

Mine were numb for quite a while too. About a month ago, I decided to start using them to put pressure on my lower lip from time to time. Like you, I thought that perhaps me just not using them was slowing down them feeling "normal" again. Either coincidentally, or because of that, they'd ...

Re: I think I have a loose tooth?

Another newbie digging up an old post for a similar reason. That popping feeling...when does it go away? It's driving me crazy. Seems like all 6 top and bottom front teeth are full of bubbles. I've had my top braces about four and a half months. The bottoms for about two and a half months. That sen...

Re: Flossing: Impossible

I used the WaterPik, and also used Glide Threader Floss. (It's glide floss in a little packet with one end kind of "plasticized" for stiffness.) I'd kinda poo-pooed that initially, but tried it again this weekend and it's quite a time-saver. Hasn't helped me get between the teeth on the b...

Re: Flossing: Impossible

I'm having real trouble myself flossing, attempted for the first time last night (second night in braces) but couldn't get the floss anywhere near most of my teeth because my archwire is practically ontop of my gum line! I wonder if, because your archwire is so low, that flossers like the spam spam...

Disclaimer - I'm an orthodontist, but I'm not YOUR orthodontist - if you're my patient we should be talking in person to figure stuff out. I got a kick out of your disclaimer. You could become all-too-popular as an orthodontist on this forum. Thanks for the advice! I'm pretty set on getting flossin...

Re: Flossing: Impossible

if ur having trouble getting it under the wire, get a floss threader or they have floss with built in threaders like oral b superfloss(kinna thick and shreds) or glide threader floss(heard is better), but even with those for me too much time n work to do evertday...so just ordered a waterpik :) Yea...

Flossing: Impossible

Okay...maybe that's an exaggeration. Finally got my bottom braces on yesterday. Things are tight and I was only able to get floss between two of my bottom teeth after much sweating and swearing along the whole arch. I use the "tape" style floss that Oral-B has. Thinking I may give the old ...

Re: Getting my bottom braces next week

Hello, there! Listen, I'm not gonna lie. My bottoms bothered me when I got them put on. I, too, got my bottom arch braced about 2 months after I got the tops. When I got the bottom braces on I was MISERABLE for about a WEEK. I wanted to yank them out of my mouth! I kept gnawing on my wallet to soot...

Thanks! Spacers haven't been too bad this time around. A little sore, but actually less than the tops were :) Bottoms come Wednesday.

Re: What colour modules for my last adjustment tomorrow?

Green tea has made my bands a nice, light shade of yellow. If I had it to do over again, I'd cut out the middle man and get yellow ones :)

10 months?!

Well... at least I know I'm not alone. :) Thank you.
