I need blender drink ideas
I want to be ready for ANYthing, including the inability to eat! I don't even own a blender yet, but will get one when I would have some idea of how to use it :P I like the idea of putting several items into a blender, turning it on, and ending up with a nutritious drink when you can't eat. But what...

Uppers and lowers done seperately?
I've been reading alot of posts here where someone says they just had their upper or lower teeth braced. Do orthos put the upper ones and lower ones on seperately? I always thought all teeth were braced at the same time! But is it done that way?

Adjustments...every 2 months?
My ortho told me that my adjustments will be every 2 months. I thought people usually have it done every month. Is every 2 months really often enough?

I ask about chewing gum at my last consult because I saw on their literature that bubble gum is a no-no. But I chew Extra sugar free right now because I like that it unsticks food from my teeth after a meal. Someone here said it also sticks to braces. My ortho said that Carefree Koolers gum is suppo...

Wow! This all gives me alot to think about. I've never heard of wire ties before. I thought the only choice was ceramic or metal brackets. Considering what I've read here, I'll probably go with metal. Sounds like a more sure winner. I've got a bad overjet in the front, and would like to reduce the e...

Metal over ceramic uppers?
Has anyone ever chosen to use metal braces instead of the ceramic ones, even though the ceramics are so much more invisible? Here are my reasons for possibly doing so in about a month, and someone can tell me if I'm wrong. I got this info. from a treatment coordinator at our local ortho office: 1. C...

Lucyloop: A whole hour?!?! I don't know how you manage that every single day! Makes it sound like the rest of us have it pretty good! I'm glad to hear that it would be Ok to have fillings done once my braces are on. I didn't want to get the braces, then discover 6 months later that I have ano...

Brittle teeth worth straightening?
Dear Doc: I'm now on the home stretch toward getting braces, but new questions arise around every corner. At my last consult with my ortho, I was told that I'll need to get all dental work (fillings, etc.) done before the braces go on. Now there's a problem with that: I seem to keep needing fillings...

Cheaper electric toothbrush?
I've read much about the Sonicare brush on this forum, but when I went to the store to see it, I was astounded at the $100 price tag! Then I saw the cheaper electrics for $20, and all the way down to $5. They seem like the same thing: An electric motor spinning a circular brush head. Am I missing so...
