Re: 2 Weeks Post Op
I would take it easy. I wasn't given the go ahead to eat soft foods until around 5 - 6 weeks. In fairness many of the anecdotes I read online had people eating soft foods much, much earlier, but if you're in any pain I'd lay off for a bit. Even when I graduated to soft foods it was spoonfuls of pota...

Re: Five weeks post op and dissappointed
[quote="mandiechien"][quote="annepanne"]I'm 5 months post-op and I still feel I have some lip incompetence/mentalis strain. I'm satisfied with my surgery, but I feel like it is "almost" there. Not exactly. I don't know how much that will change from now on... After my s...

Re: Night time pain?
Absolutely. I'm 12 weeks post-op at this point, and night time pain plagued me for about 2 weeks (maybe slightly more) after my surgery. It was awful, and like clockwork...I could get through the day fine and then within minutes of lying down to go to sleep, the pain began. The pain was so bad for m...

Re: What are the symptoms of an infected plate?
It's tough to say because I can't open my mouth very wide, but I can brush it easily with my tongue, so I'd say tongue side? At present there is no pain or discharge... Can I ask, what happened in your situation with the screw? The lump is sharp and pointed, which suggests to me I may be experiencin...

What are the symptoms of an infected plate?
Curious. I have a lump near my back molars on my left side, long and pointed. Not painful when I press my tongue against it, but I can't say for sure it was there before. Sometimes I feel an odd sensation, like it moves or my flesh is brushing against it. I should mention I had lower jaw surgery 6 w...

Re: Lower jaw surgery: clicking at one of the break points?
I feel I should clarify -- and apologies if double posting isn't allowed, I couldn't find an edit button -- this clicking doesn't seem to be TMJ related -- the click seems to be originating from the break point of my lower jaw, not below my ear. And there is absolutely no clicking on the right side....

Lower jaw surgery: clicking at one of the break points?
Hi folks. Had my lower jaw surgery to correct overbite five weeks ago today. Healing has been going well...no infections, bite is perfect and pain has largely dwindled (still getting headaches but I'm also changing my bands every day, so assuming that's the issue -- they aren't unbearably sore). How...
