Re: Bracket placement - opinions needed
I wondered too about the positioning of some of my brackets- front bottoms seemed really high, like you feel. Plus a couple at a strange angle that really didn't seem to relate to how I wanted my teeth to move. And one that popped off got put on in a different place. But orthodontistry should appare...

Re: How are bite blocks removed?
Yeah, like some kind of abrasive wizzy drill sander type thing?? They're substantial solid blocks pushed right up the deep grooves in second molars. I guess it'll be a bit like having a filling, but a lot more to drill out. And a lots of pressure and vibrations. Anyone that's been through this; any ...

Re: How often do you have your teeth Cleaned?
Every six months for me too. I had one yesterday. The hygienist made a point of going through the basics with me again. I'll pass it on incase anyone missed it. -Don't brush within 30 min of eating or drinking, as the enamel is weaker from acid. -After brushing never rinse out, dont spit too thourou...

How are bite blocks removed?
I can't find an answer to this, despite googling. I'm very curious as I think I might be ready for this soon! I've had a very hard time with my bite blocks. I swear to god that one side was built up more than the other, so one tooth has been taking all of my bite force, and as a clencher - especiall...

Re: Elastics is ruining my life!
You defiantely get used to them quickly. Mine go from very back to front, one side top to bottom the other vice versa. They're quite visible when I talk but it's only a nuisance now when trying to eat something stringy, like cooked spinach! Sometimes they ping off or snap, but it's not painful. The ...

Re: hooks...so much pain...
Hello. I'm recently braced too, I think it's been about 3 weeks. I am also in ceramics (radiance plus - doesn't seems at all a ceramic to me but I think that's what they call it). The only brackets that don't have 'hooks' are the front four and the back 2 either side. I was the same, couldn't unders...

Re: Archwire shape
Thanks for the responses. I did ask in the beginning what we could aim for them to look like..He showed a photo of perfect teeth and said 'this', seemed like a good place to start! But I will have this conversation the next time I go in. Just to clarify. I think the bit that's making me feel awkward...

Argh! disclosing tablets dyed ligs
Inaccessible bits around ligs are still pink :o
Also initially (apart from that) the only other places where pink stuck really was the edge of the glue.. is that just the way it is, OR does it mean I'm not managing to clean the edge of the glue spots well enough? ?

Archwire shape
First post! So I finally got braces on 5 days ago! Top set, Radiance Plus brackets, one tooth not bracketed yet. Bottom set then TADS to come. See some movement already and that tiny bit seems to make such a difference. Just today able to bite through soft things, has been a lot of soup and rice pudd...
