Chewing gum with bite blocks
The title basically says it all. I've always been very free with gum (sugar-free) while having braces, but now with bite blocks I'm scared something will happen.

Re: 9 months later, the challenge really begins
I think it was an expected development for him, but not for me, although I can't say for sure. For example, I was supposed to have full top braces just one month after putting the first pieces on, but it's been 9 months and only now did I get one extra piece (not including the hooks). The worst toot...

9 months later, the challenge really begins
Well. Do you know when you just don't have any idea about the real seriousness of something and you just go along with things until finally something clicks inside your head and you're like 'damn, this is not normal'? Allow me to explain. For years I've had a crossbite, but I didn't know that was se...

Re: Confess your orthodontic sins.
Aw! Nearly 9 months in and I've pretty much done it all (except biting apples... although I'm sure I could do it). I never used to care much for chewing gum before, but since like September I've been obsessed and I carry gum around with me at all times. Popcorn? Eh it can get a little messy, but so ...

Re: Braced Musicians
Hey! I play the flute and it was really hard for me to play during the first couple of months. However, I got used to it and inevitably changed my embouchure. As for singing, it's also really different... it's like some words come out more 'closed' and in some songs I have a lisp (I had a reeeeeally...

Re: Really slow progress
Nope, no medication at all.
I had pain from the cuts, so I just use wax the tooth has come a little forward though, so I'm hopeful next month I'll get the spring off

Re: Really slow progress
I HAVE seen progress, when I smiled there were only 4 teeth visible (because of the bite) and now I have almost 8! I definitely have progress. Anyway, the tooth in question has already come forward a bit so I'm hopeful that in my next appointment he'll finally connect the remaining two teeth (the wo...

Re: Are springs painful?
Springs are fine! You feel a little pain from your teeth moving, but you'd still feel it with regular braces.
I've had springs for three months and I only have pain in the first few days after adjustment, afterwards it's just a breeze.

Suction between teeth
Hello! This may seem like a really stupid question but please take this doubt off my mind! I have a friend who used to have a gap between her fro t teeth, but it closed because she kept creating suction between them with her tongue. Right now, my dentist placed a springer on my braces to open gaps b...

Re: What are your worst braces symptoms?
Since my one of my teeth is slowly but surely rotating, I seem to be getting some accumulated saliva stuck between two teeth, and I constantly feel it stuck, not being able to get it out it's so annoying!! I keep creating suction on purpose but it does nothing!!! I hope it gets better

Re: Sometimes when I close my mouth I feel a little pop
Yes, it's usually in the same places but sometimes it varies a bit. I don't know, maybe it's air buildup between the teeth and the top of the brackets, maybe it's saliva building into a bubble and popping, who knows. Everything seems to be fine!
