ive had full braces an expander and rubberbands...yet ive never relaly had an issue w/ my bf. kissing isn't really an issue.

The expander is on the roof of my mouth, and two teeth have bands or something that the expander is connected to, so I'll be sure to brush those extra good even though they're covered by metal. :) Thanks Dr. G for replying, I heard from another ortho who used to visit this forum that it is "AK...

well if this helps any...ima teenage girl (14) and i find that plain regualr metal braces are just fine. They don't break,and i don't find tham irritating at all...i never have to use wax or anything...

Just thought i'd pop that into the convo!

well im 14 and had an expander at 13. i never had a problem turning it. and it turned it 2 times a day for about 2 months. I'm not sure wat is cuasing your daughter such pain. Altho i did notice if your sinus's are stuffy from alergies or such,...you do feel quite a bit more pressure...i don't know ...

i had an expander. ( im only 14 now) i had one when i was 13 for about a year. tunred 2 tines a day everyday. it actualy dind't bother me at all. everyone makes them out to be horrid, but they really aren't bad. and i actuually had very spaced out teeth, but he said my pallate still needed ot be wid...

why does't he tried coil springs. they re basicly elatics, but only the ortho can remove them. :)
