Re: Electric Toothbrush Problems
For those who are liking their Oral-B or Sonicare, are you all using the $25-$50 models or the $51-$200 models?

Re: Anyone else regret their ceramics?
I have ceramic self-ligating brackets on top, metal on bottom. Initially I thought the profile of the ceramics would be too much, with having crowded teeth & overjet, but honestly I don't notice much of a difference. The ones on my canine teeth are the only ones that aren't friendly against my c...

Re: Finally have braces - August 2016
Nice! Thanks for the photo! How do the damon clear brackets feel? They are definitely less noticeable than the metal brackets. Thanks. These are actually the Empower brackets, which are made by American Orthodontics. I do indeed like them, but can't compare them to any others since I have no experi...

Re: Finally have braces - August 2016
32hr update... -Haven't really noticed any "pain," just light pressure and sensitive teeth. So far I've only taken four ibuprofens and just now used wax on my upper canines. Brushing isn't painful either, only it's a difficult and time consuming process. Trying to floss is a you-know-what....

Finally have braces - August 2016
At the age of 29, I've finally made a possibility into a reality. I opted to go the non-surgical route, which was recommended, but not something I wanted to do. My other option was braces & extractions. So as of yesterday, I have braces! The ones I have are the Empower Self-Ligating ceramic on t...

Re: Wonky to Wonderful: My Smile Renovation
Your smile looks great! Congrats!! Thank you!!! I am thrilled! How are you getting on? I'm glad to hear that! Did they offer you any alternatives besides the Essix retainer, like a permanent one behind your teeth? I was scheduled for a month ago but my dentist wanted to do a couple fillings first a...

Re: Have braces solved your mouth protrusion?
I think what they're saying is it's not that people with protrusion don't get positive results, just that similar cases with post-treatment documentation are few and far between on here. Eg... there are many more inquiries about it vs. how many have went through the non-surgery route to fix protrusi...

Re: Empower Clear or Clarity SL Ceramic braces?
So have you decided yet which you'll choose? If not, is there any way you can actually examine them both before hand? What I'm wondering is if whether you can feel a model of each one to see if one is less sharp, or if the brackets themselves are smaller or larger with one vs the other. And maybe i...

Re: Empower Clear or Clarity SL Ceramic braces?
You're absolutely right, the orthodontist's skills is most important. But if they're skilled/experienced with both, which brackets would you choose? The Empower clears look very similar in aesthetics to the Damon clear & seem more "worth" the extra dollars for aesthetics over tradition...

Empower Clear or Clarity SL Ceramic braces?
Anyone here had/has either of these? Both are self ligating and the Orthodontist I've chosen works with both.

Re: Wonky to Wonderful: My Smile Renovation
How did your last appointment go? Seems like you're getting pretty close to the end so you must be excited about that! I have a few questions for you, if you don't mind. First off your orthodontist office (3 orthos, multiple locations), the brand of braces, & Carlos OKelleys sound very familiar...

Re: Will tooth extraction ruin my face?
Not usually. Of course there will always be a few non-textbook cases, but for the most part it has good results. If there isn't enough room for all of the teeth, trying to straighten without first creating room can cause other problems, such as flaring of the teeth. If your teeth are severely crowd...
