Re: What reactions have you had about your braces?
[quote="guilder68"]I jokingly told a friend that I have the equivalent of the cost of a trip to Hawaii on my teeth and she said "I would have chosen Hawaii"...I have now decided not to tell anyone how much it is costing. (I also need gum grafting etc. so it will cost quite a bit ...

Re: What reactions have you had about your braces?
My friend had the six month smiles and I didn't notice them until she pointed them out. I had clear brackets with white elastics initially and found it actually drew more attention to them as people studied more to figure out what was going on in my mouth. Now I've got the clear brackets with blue e...

Re: Best thing for sore, cracked lips (due to braces)?
Carmex is probably your best bet. The likes of chapstick and Vaseline aren't usually absorbed and just coats your lips ,whereas Carmex has Salicylic Acid which sheds dry skin and is antibacterial. Glad it's not just me suffering with the dry lips ,didn't think it would have anything to do with the b...

Re: Has anyone thought braces couldn't sort their teeth out the been pleasantly surprised with the results?
Makes me feel better :) I had a premolar and molar removed at bottom when I was a kid (right next to each other) and have had one implant in its place to hopefully support upper molar as it over erupting. I'm a bit precious with my teeth now as you can imagine, lol , so hoping the one baby tooth rem...

Re: Has anyone thought braces couldn't sort their teeth out the been pleasantly surprised with the results?
Thank you. The orthodontist is in high demand in my area hence the 2 month wait between appointments (will be closer together once braces are on ,of course ) so have every faith in him. I think my teeth are horrendous (1 missing tooth ,a dental implant, a big filling and a crowned root canal) but be...

Has anyone thought braces couldn't sort their teeth out the been pleasantly surprised with the results?
Hi there guys ,I'm a new member and been browsing for the past weeks to get an idea of what to expect with braces. Basically, last year I had a dental implant lower back as my top opposing tooth had over errupted and needed the support. As the errupted tooth was going into the gap we were going to u...

Re: Getting implants and curious about everyone else's experience!
I had a implant last year (well I started the process ) to replace a molar I had removed when I was a kid. The top opposing tooth has over errupted as result so felt I needed something there to support it. I had to have a bone graft as I hadn't had anything there for 15 years and because the bone I ...

Re: Can an adult with healthy jaws and gums still move their teeth by thumb sucking?
My partner ,aged 45 ,sucks his thumb and his teeth are perfect with no sign of the "buck teeth" you sometimes get from it. Saying that ,he only sucks his thumb in the evening when he's watching TV not all the time.
