Re: Coffee lover
I too am a coffee drinker! When (and if) you need powerchains, choose a darker color - lighter colors tend to stain more easily (lesson learned after I had a pale blue powerchain - never again!).

Re: Brushing Habits
I brush at least two times a day. Morning after breakfast with a normal soft brush, interdental brush if needed, then mouthwash. Bedtime, electric toothbrush, floss, interdental brush (and sometimes I brush with normal toothbrush after this) and then mouthwash. Sometimes I brush after lunch if I hav...

Oh this is good to know! What colour did you switch to, Felina?

First IPR experience and lowers are now on
Just got my lowers on yesterday after two weeks of spacers. I'm trying to adjust to them, they hurt a little bit this morning but nothing that tylenol can't help. Ortho also did some IPR on upper front teeth to close up a small gap due to width of teeth. Is this pretty typical? Anything I should wor...

9 Weeks Progress!
I went to my ortho for my first adjustment/tightening yesterday. He and all the assistants were very impressed with the progress of my teeth! I knew they were moving but I guess they've moved more than I thought. When I first got them on I remember staring at my teeth in the mirror and didn't notice...

Re: How to avoid chaos when using waterpik?
That said...in addition to using the waterpik, I'm still flossing but I'm afraid to floss my back molars where the metal bands are. Should I be worried about loosening them as I floss? Everything still feels a bit weird/new back there so I'm a bit afraid. Sorry to double post in a row, just thought ...

Re: How to avoid chaos when using waterpik?
Thanks for the tips - I too was wondering how to use a Waterpik without the spraying effect all over the bathroom mirror. I guess practice makes perfect!

Re: What are your worst braces symptoms?
I got my spacers off yesterday and metal bands placed on molars and finally the wire. It took me two weeks to get used to the brackets themselves and eating...and I feel like I have to start all over again! A little pain when chewing but also feels like something is moving back there when I bite dow...

Re: Tips for the Newbies and Miserable
[quote="Welshrarebit"]I love this thread! Thank you to those who have posted! I'm nearly 1 month in - slightly less new and definitely less miserable than I was at the start. Still hate my braces but feeling much more positive about the end result. I have a new Most Important Item in my li...

Re: Professionals with braces: thoughts or concerns?
I'm 24 and work in a corporate office - so far the only ones that have noticed are my close work-mates who I interact with daily. Most of them knew I was getting braces anyway. I think of it as I'm bettering myself (even with having to wear them for 2 years) and will feel better about myself after t...

I was told 24 months. First 6 months with uppers, lowers on after. I was told my main issue is crowding so wondering if treatment time will change at all..

Re: New to Braces...Starving!
Thank you both! I had a more substantial dinner tonight and was less afraid of breaking the brackets. I'm sure it'll be a learning process all over again once they put my wire in in two weeks. Today was up and down, I felt panicky at times that I've committed to two years of braces, and other times ...

Re: New to Braces...Starving!
Thanks for the tips jaime!
I know in time I'll get more used to the feel of the brackets in my mouth, it's just been hard to get used to them. Right now they are just an annoyance, I wanted to rip them out yesterday! It's frustrating trying to figure out how to eat with them on : P

New to Braces...Starving!
Hi everyone! I'm just starting my journey with braces (24 month treatment time). My ortho is starting with my top teeth for the first 6 months. I had spacers put in on Tuesday along with top brackets. I go back in two weeks to have the spacers removed and have the remaining brackets and wire put on....
