Do they usually correct off midlines at the end of treatment?

I'm fortunate enough to have white wire ties on my ceramics. I have powerchains right now, but they're on my back teeth and they're silver. When they put a powerchain across my front teeth they use clear.

Sorry, my question may be dumb. I know they correct your bite, etc. but what specifically can they do? Overbite? Cross bite? Correct midline? Close gaps? I'm just curious )
