Re: Braces and missing front tooth - a complicated case
You are very welcome! Don't change your mind- just go for it! You won't regret it!!! And I don't find that the fake teeth attached to my braces are any more or less noticeable than my previous "permanent" fake teeth. An implant is by far the best option! I can't bring myself to get one bec...

Re: Going out for meals?
I have no shame in my game. I go out to eat whenever I want and eat whatever I want. I swish with water after I've finished eating, at the very least, to remove anything wayward. I've not had any issues.

Re: Mouthwash vs no Mouthwash
I use ACT anticavity or ACT restoring about half an hour after brushing. I chose them because they have the highest concentration of fluoride I could find. (I don't use it right after I brush so that I can keep the toothpaste residue on my teeth as long as possible.)

Re: What reactions have you had about your braces?
The only reactions were people asking about them because they were considering getting adult braces themselves and people wanting to talk tooth progress with me because they also had adult braces. Total non issue.

Re: Braces and missing front tooth - a complicated case
Also, what are your plans for the missing tooth after you get your braces off? If you are looking for something more permanent than your flipper but don't want to go the implant direction, I've had good luck with Maryland bridges.

Re: Braces and missing front tooth - a complicated case
Hello! I am missing two teeth in the front of my mouth and it has been no problem at all. He glued a bracket onto each fake tooth and then used a wire ligature to attach it to my arch wire. It was a bit of a pain when I had that very first round wire because they would rock back and forth slightly o...

Re: 8 days until B-Day!!!
The easiest way for me to post pictures is to go to attachments - add file - wait for it to load - insert (not sure the exact language).

Re: 8 days until B-Day!!!
You'll be fine! I had the same apprehension before I was braced. I've had them for a month now and I regret nothing. In fact, I've already had noticeable movement and that has got me more excited than ever! I had issues with a long wire that I was able to have clipped a couple days after I got them ...

Re: Braces (Round 2) at 31!
My husband looked at me today and said that it looked like my teeth had moved some! So exciting! The fake laterals don't look great- my ortho left then bulky to try to prevent them from rotating on my round wire. I think he will probably grind them down some once I get my square wire.

Re: Snacks for road trip?
Thank you for all the suggestions- I'm making a list! I feel a lot better now. I'm going on the trip with my parents (I'm married, but I'm off in the summer and my husband has to work, so I always take a trip with them.). I'm a three square meals kinda gal but they never want to eat lunch if they've...

Re: Snacks for road trip?
Luckily for you, snacks, especially those with little to no nutritional value, are one of my main areas of expertise :) . For crunchiness and saltiness, consider potato chips although smaller-sized pretzels would probably work as well, perhaps you could dip them into an open jar of peanut butter (a...

Snacks for road trip?
I'm newly braced and about to go on a weeklong road trip. I'm used to bringing cashews, peanut butter pretzels, etc. to snack on, and I'm having a hard time coming up with soft, portable snacks I can take instead. I'd appreciate any suggestions!

Re: Braces (Round 2) at 31!
I had my second Maryland bridge removed today. I've spent more than half my life with metal wings cemented to the backs of those two abutment teeth! They felt SO thin once the bridge was out- weirdest feeling ever! Now that the bridge is gone, I can really tell that central incisor is about to start...

Re: Braces (Round 2) at 31!
Here are my chompers on bracing day! I have one fake tooth attached to my archwire. The other Maryland bridge is still bonded in because my other fake tooth had not come in yet. I'm having the bridge removed and the new fake tooth attached to my wire at the same time that I have the extra cement dri...
