Gaps between molars?
I’m scheduled to have my braces finally taken off after nearly 2 years on August 6. I have one more appointment before then in two weeks. I have heard a lot of talk on our forum about gaps between front teeth opening up, even in the last stages of braces, but not as much about molar gaps. About six ...

Re: Aligned teeth but odd canine tooth...?
No not yet but made it clear that we just need midline to move another 1mm and then in her mind we were done. A month and a half later and still not good on the canine- I am doing a second opinion consult with a different ortho before my next appt. how’s yours progressing??

Re: Aligned teeth but odd canine tooth...?
Wow super timely- I have this exact problem and am supposedly in my last few months of braces. My issue is further complicated by the fact that I previously had bonding on my “high” canine tooth, which I think has adversely affected my treatment. Now the rest of my teeth look perfect but this one ca...

Re: Harmony upper/lower this fall! Anyone have any experience with itero scanner?
I didn’t choose. Ortho only uses harmony and not incognito. I don’t think they are markedly different other than material (steel vs gold colored) and the “bracket pads” are somewhat different.

Re: dry mouth
I definitely had dry mouth. Over time (I would say 3 month mark was biggest improvement) it got better, but I still am about twice as dry at night as usual. Sleep with a humidifier and buy dry mouth products if you can

Re: Linguals, acceledent, and impacted canines (oh my!)
Another update gap but here I am! Things went kind of down hill after my last update. Top teeth were perfectly in line but the bottom were a mess. The impacted canine soon made it know that it was in fact not going to budge. Soon after, the tooth was extracted and I had bone grafting done to prepare...

CONGRATS! You hung in there through an awful lot and I’m so glad it’s all (mostly! Save for retainer entertainment) over for you! Also you me comment was the first time I ever even thought about lingual removal!!! Ahhhh! I have harmony and they really do cover almost the entire tooth, especially mol...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB
Sorry for the frustating delay impacted4lyfe! I had the same thing happen, so it is unfortunately pretty common for the exposure procedure to be repeated, although I think for most (including me) it’s repeated because the bracket/button bonded to the impacted tooth has fallen off, not for reposition...

Re: Has your orthodontist ever screwed up?
Yes it does happen. The comment about instructions responding to developments since the last one etc etc definitely seems on point. Generally, I think as long as there is forward progress and things are gradually improving, situations like yours aren’t cause for concern. However, orthos are doctors,...

Re: "What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been" - Robert Hunter, Grateful Dead
I've had an eventful few months but am a poor updater.... mostly just commiserate with the others around these parts who have dealt with impacted canines as old people. Long story short the impacted canine didn't improve at all, so it's now been extracted and we are just closing up gaps on the botto...

Re: How long till I can chew?
I'll echo everyone else and say it will get better! Your bite will improve (although in my case I am still sporting a bite that is way worse than what I started with!) or at least you will get used to it and be able to eat normally very soon.

Re: One month with lingual braces
Welcome Holly. There aren't many of us with lingual around here. I was totally back to normal food by week 2. Today I eat seriously anything including apples (cut up... not directly) and have had no issues. You'll get used to them in no time. I am a year and 4 months in and can't remember what it wa...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB
Welcome to the club, korikelly. Actually perhaps I am now kicked out since I don't have a canine at all! :( :( So I may not be able to extend a proper welcome. Hang in there UV. I will say the implant process is not cheap (after insurance, the entire implant process will be over 3.5k) so if you have...
