Re: Upper jaw expander
I personally have never had a jaw expander, but have heard other people recommending a water flosser to get food out.

Front teeth hurting again
So i got braces about 4 weeks ago now, and after week two i was back to normal with eating with no pain, although just recently my front two incisors on the top have started hurting again, really badly. Is there a reason behind this or is it normal and a sign the teeth are moving?

Mouthwash vs no Mouthwash
I got my braces about 2 weeks ago to fix my two impacted canines (expecting to have them on for 2-3 years), I've been brushing twice a day then flossing once a day. Although I've been wondering should I also be using mouthwash to clean anything left by the brushing/flossing? If so should I use one t...

Re: Top teeth touching bottom brackets from deep bite
So I got my braces on a few days ago, and the orthodontist did put some molar buildups in, although they are not high enough. So whenever I bite down my 4 front teeth touch the brackets. This isn't a problem normally although when I try to eat I am constantly nervous i'm going to break the brackets ...

Re: Floss doesn't fit between my teeth
Thanks, I did try threading it at the gumline although even there, it's too tight. Although I did get some Glide floss and that works, just barely. Hopefully once everything settles in place it gets better, because I did only get them on 2 days ago now.

Floss doesn't fit between my teeth
I got braces a few days ago to fix my two impacted canines and overbite, and i've discovered that flossing is impossible, even on my lower teeth with no springs once I thread the floss under the wire, it won't actually fit between my teeth. Is there some way to fix this? I've heard people talk about...

Re: Top teeth touching bottom brackets from deep bite
Thanks for your reply, if molar build ups were used how would I be able to chew food, because my molars would not be able to touch each other?

Top teeth touching bottom brackets from deep bite
Hi, so Im getting braces in a week to fix my two upper impacted canines and rather bad deep bite, as well as just other crooked teeth. Although because of this deep bite i'm wondering what will happen to stop my top teeth touching the brackets on the bottom. My orthodontist hasn't said anything abou...

What colour bands draw the least attention to braces
So i'm getting braces in a few weeks to fix my two impacted canines, and as I'm getting metal ones I have the choice of coloured bands.
What colour usually would draw the least attention to them? I've heard that white can actually make them stand out more.
Thanks for any help

Are springs painful?
So I'm getting braces in a few weeks to fix my two impacted canines, and my ortho said that involves springs (one on either side) and i've heard horror stories from other people saying springs are painful and uncomfortable. So I just wanted to hear about some other people who have/have had springs o...

Nervous about getting braces
So i'm going to be getting braces in a few weeks time, and as the title says i'm nervous. Not about the pain or getting them on etc. But about how I will look, i have to get metal ones because of what needs doing (two impacted canines) and that i like coffee, so ceramics are out of the option. Any a...

Ceramic vs Metal braces
The title explains very clearly, I have a choice between metal (silver) or Ceramic braces Aside from the obvious pros/cons (metal is generally more durable but also more visible, and ceramic takes longer and can stain etc) is there anything else that I should know before deciding which type i should...
