Teeth moved 2 weeks before debonding?!
Braced: Sept 16th, 2016 Scheduled to be debonded: Sept 21st, 2018 D-Day is on its way and I'm excited, nervous, , the works! Bit of a problem on the go, though... On August 17th I was heading home, driving and munching on M&M's (just plain chocolate)... I bit down with my back molars and...

Re: Retainer/Aligner cleaner that also whitens teeth - what do you think?
The only downside/risk that I see is that Hydrogen Peroxide is known to create sore throats (and subsequent colds) when used in whitening products - it happens to many that use white strips or trays... Other than that, I think it would be an INCREDIBLE 2-for-1 type of product. I'd definitely give it...

Re: Final Appointment Before Debracing - What Happens?
My second to last appointment was just like every other appointment. Then two weeks later the braces were removed and that’s when my top teeth were reshaped with the grinder. That's what I assumed would happen, but at my last appointment the D.A. came out with the plan in my post. She said that the...

Final Appointment Before Debracing - What Happens?
Howdy, folks! I have an appointment on June 18th that'll be my last (hopefully) power-chain change. The following appointment will be where they get things all "prettied" up...from what I understand, this means grinding some areas (corners, etc) so things fit better, and whatever else need...

Re: Does this mean I'm getting closer to the end??
I think you are in the home stretch but don't get your hopes up for a quick ending within the next few weeks. My ortho said a similar thing about the roots -- they tend to get drug along the jaw and are a bit canted-- and they should be upright. In my case it was several more months or slightly mor...

Does this mean I'm getting closer to the end??
(Initial quote was 18-24 months, but there's been a delay in closing an extraction gap due to a failed closed coil. Currently 15 months in...) Last saw my ortho on Dec 15th. Other than the extraction gap (top right canine) that's still closing, they said everything looks good. At my next appointment...

Re: Lips protruding
Noticing this as initial wires widen my arch. Beginning to feel the brackets hitting back of my lips.......no pain but just a bit annoying, almost claustrophobic feeling at times. I used to feel SO claustrophobic when I first had them! It does get better - I promise you. I rarely notice them now, a...

Re: Your jail sentence
18-24 months was the initial estimate. I have a huge gap to close on the top right; once that's done, it's just some "fine tuning". Hoping it's closer to the 18 months than the 24... 10 months in so far!

Re: Day 1 - Two brackets down already!
I have my top braces in already but I'm getting bottom braces put on in two or three months and I can't see how I'm not going to chew the brackets off. I'm hoping that I have some room cleared up by then. Does biting brackets off happen that often and does it hurt at all? Nah - no pain from my expe...

Re: How to correct midline?
My midline moved to the left after my left canines were extracted in childhood/adolescence for various reasons; my midline is now 3mm to the left on both top and bottom. My ortho gave me the option and I elected to pull the ones on the right side to give space for things to move back towards the cen...

Re: how much do you pay a month for your braces?
Nova Scotia, Canada - I paid $150 down and currently pay $120 a month. My health insurance will cover up to $3000 (max, lifetime), thankfully. My total, all in, is $6000.

Re: Day 1 - Two brackets down already!
I managed to pop off 7 in the first four months...two in one day. They had to put "bite pads" (gobs of gel that harden with light) on my top molars to keep me from clenching down and putting enough pressure on them that they'd pop off. It was SUPER annoying to have to go in and have them r...

Re: 10 months down and ?? months to go
They'll definitely get leveled out. When I switched to the rectangular finishing wire, that was when my ortho started using bends to level out my teeth. The rectangular stainless steel wire? I've had those for a few months now. He bent the bottom one a bit this time to tighten the arch up a bit I t...

Re: 10 months down and ?? months to go
Thank you!! I would like them to be straight across like little chicklets but I dunno if that's something that can be done (shaving/messing with how deeply rooted they are/ /etc)... otherwise, they look pretty good!!sandiego88 wrote:wow! your bottom teeth look so good!

Thanks bud. It's not an ideal situation, but I'm doing my best with the cards I've been dealt.Tyrantblade wrote:Well, i get it now.
It must suck, but you are making the best out of a bad situation, and you will not regret it when things start coming together.
