Hi Linda21! Sorry to hear about the little bump in the road that you recently experienced, but glad it all ended up well enough (you even treated yourself). :D Just wanted to say hello. I can relate to comment about popcorn and permanent retainers getting along very well. I myself have been partakin...

Hi everyone, I've been lurking on occasion, and thought I would pop in for an update. I just had my seven month (post-debonding) retainer check. Everything is looking good, and I (knock wood) have not been experiencing any major problems. I had noticed that in the interim between my last check a few...

Hi! Sorry you are having this trouble - I have been there done that! When I got my lower bonded retainer there was excess adhesive in two spots that made it impossible to floss. I went back to the ortho's office and they removed it, and I never had any real problems after that. Actually, although it...

I currently have an upper Hawley and a lower bonded retainer. I was started out with an upper Biostar, which is like an Essix (with a plan to move to a Hawley two months post debonding) and noticed that I was grinding - I could see the wear on the Biostar. My ortho made me an extra thick lower Biost...

Hi Linda21! I'm so glad to hear that your retainer check was quick and easy, and better yet that your bite and everything else looks perfect! So your impending extraction surgery is practically here! I will definitely keep you in my thoughts this coming Wednesday, and sending you lots of white light...

Please, wear it! You are only hurting yourself if you don't, and I mean that in the kindest and most constructive way. As someone who has had to go through braces treatment twice, I am a cheerleader for wearing that retainer! My 24/7 retainer wear is for six months (at least) so three months sounds ...

Hi seriously ! Thanks for the compliment, and you are right, my Hawley really does look like an Orange Dreamsicle (a mean one!). By the way, are you ready for the season premier of Grey's Anatomy? I can't wait and need to get set up to record it just in case something happens when it is on. - ...

I do really dislike cleaning around that lower bonded retainer!! Had a hunk of something stuck in there the other day and it would not come out with brushing. I had to wait until I got home and got my to brushpicks to get it out. Drove me nuts all day. With that said, I appreciate it. Agree with th...

oceanblue, I'm guessing things may seem better in a few days, but if not, definitely check in with your ortho. Thinking again about the first few days in braces, I'm remembering I had a sore spot with my Essix and thought I would need to have it trimmed, but then it magically got better. I think the...

Harley Momma, you are not alone. Victory1 had uppers and lowers with the molded acrylic on the front. I was supposed to get this type of upper Hawley and my ortho called it a maxillary wrap Hawley (they ended up giving me something different). Here is Victory1's photo: http://img409.imageshack.us/im...

Hi KK - thanks so much for the good wishes (and right back at you!). All is going well with my Hawley so far. :D I have an appointment this coming week to pick up my nightguard. I'm curious to ask them a question about my bite also. With the Hawley in, the same tooth (lower left central) is hitting ...
