My fave is the periwinkle with an iridescent tint. I have light silver on now and it seems to have taken to staining.. I forgot to remind the assistant what color I wanted! :P

I had the gum contouring prior to braces and I did have a few spots of white and when I went back for my postop check my dentist told me I probably wasn't keeping it clean enough. After a few days of really doing the warm salt water rinses (like at least 5-6x a day) it cleared up and healed w...

powerchain looks crooked

I am 6 weeks from my debanding and I had my last powerchain put on today to hold everything tight until d-day. Anyway I noticed tonight during my cleaning that the powerchain appears crooked. Its hard to explain but other powerchains I have had covered up my wire. Now I see my wire above the powerch...

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words! I never noticed my midline before treatment because I had a severe deep bite. Its probably only about half a tooth off. I am thrilled beyond reason about my bite correction so I will be satisfied with the results!!

midline not able to be corrected

Has anyone else been debanded with a midline that was still off? I am nearing the end of my treatment and my ortho talked to me about my midline and how it wouldn't line up without extensive surgery/possible appliance. I have been in elastics for 7 months. I am happy with my bite and my teeth. I am ...

thanks for the wonderful input! it was really helpful do you think that you should have the surgery before or after braces? If you are considering the gum recountouring I would say wait until after your braces are off. I had the procedure done and then I decided 6 months later to get braces. Now th...

Wisdom teeth removal and facial changes

My dentist is suggesting I have my wisdom teeth removed as there is minor decay on them. I have HUGE wisdom teeth on the bottom and they are further out to the sides of my cheeks than my other teeth. Anyway for anyone who has had wisdom teeth removed did you notice any facial shape changes?? TIA!!!

I have small laterals too! But once the gaps closed up I think they look better. With gaps on each side it just drew even more attention to the fact they are so teeny.

Final archwire...painful adjustment?

At my next appt I will be getting the final archwire for top and bottom. Anyway they explained to me that the ortho will put bends in the wire to tweak the teeth... How painful is that??? I can barely stand when the assistant is removing my ligs! I wonder how long I will have the final archwire too....
